Chris, VK3FY, is reportedly in the planning stages of a DXpedition to Spratly Islands to take place sometime in January 2011. Callsign has not been issued yet. More details should be forthcoming.

2010 VISALIA IDXC IOTA DINNER
The 15th annual Islands On The Air (IOTA) Dinner will be held on Friday, April 16th, in the Plaza Room of the Holiday Inn Hotel, 9000 W. Airport Drive, Visalia, CA 93277, Phone: 559 651-5000, in conjunction with the 61st annual Visalia International DX Convention. See the DX Convention Web site for details on the Convention at:

This dinner is open to all who are interested or active in the IOTA program. If you do not desire dinner, you may sit and enjoy the IOTA program following the dinner. The program agenda is as follows:
  1730 - 1830 Doors open, socializing and eyeball QSOs (Drinks available on order)
   1830 - Dinner served, buffet style; Welcoming & Introductions
  1845 - IOTA Programs begin; IOTA Presentations TBD; Door prizes
  2200 - Closing
The dinner will be served buffet style in the Birch Room at a cost of 30 USDs per person (service charge and tax included). The buffet menu will contain entree choice of beef or chicken along with salad, vegetables, dinner rolls, dessert, and a beverage (coffee, ice water, or ice tea). Vegetarian meal is available with two weeks notice. Wine and liquor can be purchased separately.

Reservations are not required but they would like to know if you are attending. Please contact one of the two coordinators below. The buffet service is for 60 persons and seating for 75 persons. Attendees will pay as they enter at the door with cash. We are offering advanced payment by check (30 USDs per person) received at least two weeks prior to the dinner to N6VR's address below. Admission is free for those wishing to watch the programs without dinner. Seating will be "first come, first seated".

As a note, the Holiday Inn has no rooms available. Check the SCDXC Web site for other motels. You may ask the SCDXC Convention coordinators if they have any rooms reserved for foreign guests.

3B9, RODRIGUES ISLAND
John, G3LZQ, will be active as 3B9WR from Cotton Bay, Rodrigues Island (AF-017) between March 3rd and April 2nd. Activity will be on all bands 160-10 meters, probably and mainly CW, but with a focus on the lower band (QRN permitting). Look for him to be in the RSGB's 73rd Commonwealth Contest (March 13-14th). 4L, GEORGIA
A team of Lithuanian and Georgian operators will activate 4L3A during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th) as a Multi-? entry. QSL via LY4A.

5C, MOROCCO
Alfredo, IK7JWX, and a team of operators will activate the city of Essaouira (ARLHS MOR-019) and Agadir, between March 16-23rd. Operators mentioned (with callsigns) to be active are: Alfredo/IK7JWX (5C2J), Leo/I8LWL (5C2L), Simon/IZ7ATN (5C2SG), Ruggero/IK2PZC (5C2P), AntoNello/IK2DUW (5C2W) and Michele/IK2GPQ (5C2Q). 9G, GHANA
Alan, G3XAQ, will once again be active (possibly as 9G5XA) during March (specific dates not provided). He plans to be an entry in the RSGB's 73rd Commonwealth Contest (March 13-14th) as a 12 hour category. Alan will use a K2 w/100 watts into an Inverted-L for 80m, Inverted-Vee doublet for 40m and a Moxon beam for 20/15m. QSL via G3SWH.

ANTARCTIC ACTIVITY WEEK NEWS

Just a reminder that the Worldwide Antarctic Program's (WAP) 7th Antarctic Activity Week (AAW) will take place between 0000z, February 22nd and 2400z, February 28th. The AAW is an unique world- wide event where Hams are "celebrating and working to improve Worldwide interest around the Antarctic Continent and its related matters, to understand and share what the Nations and Organizations are doing to study and protect this still non-contaminated corner of the world and share from there, a message of peace world-wide." BW1, TAIWAN

C2, NAURU (OC-031)
Operators Dieter/DJ2EH and his XYL Anneli/DL8NBH are once again active as C21DL and C21YL. Activity will last until February 14th. Activity is planned for 160-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. Look for the callsign C21YL to be used on RTTY. Their station includes a K3 with a 800 watt amplifier into the following antennas: a wirebeam at 15m, 20.5m vertical for 160/80m, a 2 element vertical dipole for 40/30m and a switchable LP/SP. It was reported that they have severe QRN and will try to build a beverage towards EU in order to work effectively on the lower bands. QSL via their home callsigns.

C6, BAHAMAS
Marc, K1CTT, will be active as C6ALT from the south end of Eleuthera Island (NA-001) between February 26th and March 10th. He will be there with is XYL on holiday, so activity will be limited and inconsis- tent. Operations will be on 40-15 meters SSB. QSL via his home callsign.

C6, BAHAMAS
Drew, N2RFA, will be active as C6ABB from Nassau (NA-001) between February 8-18th. Activity will be on 80/40/20/17 meters using PSK31, RTTY and SSTV. QSL via his home callsign.

CN, MOROCCO

DAYTON HAMVENTION TOPBAND DINNER

FK, NEW CALEDONIA
Operators Curt/W3HQ and Don/VK2DON will be active as FK/W3HQ from Lifou, Loyalty Islands (OC-033), between May 13­16th. Their activity will be on 40/30/20 meters using CW only. QSL via W3HQ.

H40, TEMOTU PROVINCE
By the time you read this, operators Siegfried/ DK9FN, Bernhard/DL2GAC and Hans-Peter/DG1FK should be active as H40FN (CW), H40MS (SSB) and H40FK (Digi-mode), respectively, from Ngarando/ Reef Islands (OC-065) until February 19th. Activity will be focused on 160/80m (using their famous LOBSTER 2-element multi-band vertical), but they will operate on 160-6 meters depending on the band conditions. QSL H40FN via HA8FW, H40MS via DL2GAC and H40FK via DG1FK. QSL cards will be sent out automatically via the Bureau. IOTA NEWS
AS-058. Wolfgang, OE1WWL, will be active as 9M2/OE1WWL from Langkawi Island between February 24-28th. Look for activity on SSB (bands of operations were not provided). He will only be using 10 watts and a wire antenna. QSL via his home callsign; the Bureau is preferred.

EU-006. Operators Stan/EI6DX and Mike/UA1OMX will be active as EJ6DX from Aran Islands during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th) as a Multi-Single entry. They plan to use a 3 band yagi, HF2V for 80/40m and an Inverted V for the lower bands. The duo will be there between March 26-28th. QSL via RX3RC. Look for updates at:

EU-121. Olivier, ON4EI, will be active as EJ8GQB from Bere Island between March 21-29th. This is a solo DXpedition. Activity will be on 160-10 meters using SSB and RTTY. His activity will also include an entry in the CQ WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th). Olivier will use a K3 with 100 watts into a Spider- beam for the high bands and an Inverted Vee and/or 18m top loaded mast vertical with 30 radials for the lower bands. EU-156. Operators Francois/ON4LO and Kurt/ON4CB plan to activate Tombelaine Island (DIFM MA021, Grid Loc. IN89fp) as F/OR9W/P between July 23-25th. Activity will include an entry in the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 24-25th). Tombelaine is an uninhabited island of granite in the Bay of the Mont-Saint-Michel, on the right bank of the See Channel, a few kilometers north of the Mont-Saint-Michel. The important lime properties of the bay allow them to reach the island (at foot) with dry feet at low tide. It's about 3.5 km from the coast of Cotentin in the north-east and the height of island is 45 meters. It is now part of the community of Genets and is an ornithological reserve. OC-141. Bill Horner, VK4FW, President of the ODXG, will be active as VK8MM from Groote Eylandt starting February 14th for possibly 7 days. Activities will be mainly CW to compensate for the barefoot operation. Bill will evaluate a special purpose built vertical antenna for this operation which may well prove to be a great asset to any operation. J3, GRENADA (Update)
Harry, AC8G, will once again be active as J37K beginning March 4th. Activity will include the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 6-7th) as a Single-Op/High-Power entry. Harry tells OPDX readers to look for him outside of the contest mid-mornings on March 4-5th. He expects most of his time will be on 15 or 17 meters SSB beaming EU during their openings. However, Harry will check 10 and 12 meters occasionally. There will be no operations after the contest due to his early departure on Monday morning. During the contest, Harry states that he doubts he'll be on 40, 80 and 160 meters other than the first few hours of the contest. QSL to AC8G, stateside direct with SASE. For others sending by the Bureau, please clearly mark for QSLs to go to AC8G.

J6, ST. LUCIA
Bob, G3PJT, will be active as J6/G3PJT from the north- east corner of St. Lucia (NA-108) between March 9-16th. Activity will be holiday style using a K2 w/100 watts and vertical antennas. He plans to also be in the RSGB's 73rd Commonwealth Contest (March 13-14th). Look for him outside of the contest especially on 80 and 30 meters. QSL via his home callsign.

J7, DOMINICA
Steve, KL7SB, will be active as J79SB between February 9-18th. Activity will be on the HF bands using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31. QSL via NI5DX.

J8, ST. VINCENT
Dave, G3TBK, will once again be active as J88DR between February 18th and March 15th. Activity will include the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 20-21st) and the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 6-7th) as a Single- Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. He will also be in the RSGB's 73rd Common- wealth Contest (March 13-14th). Activity outside of the contest will be on all HF bands, especially 30/17/12 meters, but mostly on CW. John, KK9A, will be active as P40A between February 28th and March 14th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters using CW and SSB. He will also be in the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 6-7th) as a Single-Op/ All-Band entry. QSL via WD9DZV. John informs OPDX that his QSL Manager Tim, WD9DZV, will join him between March 7-14th. Tim will operate mostly CW using the callsign P40D.

P4, ARUBA
Howard, WA2NHA, will be active as P4/WA2NHA between February 28th and March 14th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters mainly CW. QSL via his home callsign.

QSL INFO AND NEWS
FT5WO QSLS. Florentin, F4DYW (aka FT5WO), has returned back home and has started to reply to all direct requests for his FT5WO activity.

LOGS ADDED TO LOTW. QSL Manager Bob, W7TSQ, reports that he has added the following logs he manages onto LoTW: 3D2SQ, A35SQ, W7TSQ, W7TSQ/HR6, W7TSQ/TI5, W7TSQ/TI7, YB3ASQ, YB3ASQ/9, ZK1ASQ (North and South Cooks) and ZK1MA which is North Cooks for CQWW SSB Contest in 2002. He now states, "LoTW is preferred route". Bob also mentions that the VP5W logs for the CQWW CW Contest for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, along with A35RK and A35A, and YB3OSE and YC3OSE are available. Bob is hopeful that YB0AZ will also be there as he has asked him to put his logs on LoTW. He adds that Paul, A35A, (Bob is his QSL Manager) has also put his 3D2RK, KH8/KK6H and KK6H logs on LoTW. Bob's next step is to try and get AH6PN/HR6 and N7QXQ/HR6 to add his logs on LoTW.

NOT THE QSL MANAGER. G3RMC is not the QSL Manager for 7Q7BP. All 7Q7BP QSL cards should go via his home callsign G3MRC. Please do not send cards via G3RMC. It appears G3RMC is a typo that shows up in many listings. QSL Listing Managers, "PLEASE" take note.

TO5, SAINT MARTIN
Alan, F6BFH, and his XYL Danielle will be on the Island of Saint Martin (NA-105) between March 11­24th. Look for Alan to be active as TO5SM on the HF bands using CW and SSB. QSL via F6BFH, direct or by the Bureau.

TS8, TUNISIA (IOTA Op)
Following their activity from Morocco (see 5C above), Alfredo, IK7JWX, will lead a team of operators to activate two IOTA islands between April 27th and May 4th. Operators mentioned are: Alfredo/IK7JWX, Leo/I8LWL, Raul/IC8ATA, Titti/IK8GQY (YL), Armando/IK8BPY, Ampelio/IS0AGY, AntoNello/IK2DUW, Rosy/IW2NLC (YL), Michele/IK2GPQ, Simon/IZ7ATN, Ruggero/IK2PZC and Stanislav/IZ2GRG. The team will air (no specific dates were provided) Djerba Island (IOTA AF-083, ARLHS TUN-022, WLOTA L-1394) and Kuriat Island (IOTA AF-092, ARLHS TUN-002, WLOTA L-0974). They will used the callsigns TS8P and TS8P/p (3V8SM). Activity will be on all HF bands and 6 meters, using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31. QSL via IK7JWY.

V2, ANTIGUA
Operators Bob/W4OWY and Mark/W9OP will once again be active as V25WY and V25OP, respecively, between March 9-18th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL via their home callsign or by the Bureau. Logs will also be uploaded as before to LoTW and eQSL.

V3, BELIZE
Will, AA4NC (W4MR) will be active as V31RR between February 17-23rd. Activity will be on CW, SSB, RTTY, and the 30/17/12 bands. His activity will include the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 20-21st). QSL via AI4U.

V3, BELIZE
Ben, DL6RAI, will be active as V31RI from Consejo Beach between February 10th and March 2nd. Bands and modes of activity were not provided. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the Bureau. His log will be uploaded to LoTW after his return home and operation.

V7, MARSHALL ISLAND
Tom, N4XP, will be on Kwajalein between March 9-22nd. Look for him to be active as V7/N4XP on 160-10 meters using CW and SSB. Tom tells OPDX that he plans to be active on 60 meters this trip. QSL via his home callsign.

V8, BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

VL9L, LORD HOWE ISLAND. Chris, VK3FY, will try to activate Lord Howe Island (OC-004) as either VK9LHI or VK9FY during the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 30-31st). VP5, TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS
Rick, K6VVA, will be active as VP5/K6VVA from Providenciales (NA-002) between February 18­24th. Activity will be holiday style, but he plans to be active during the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 20-21st) using the callsign VP5Z. YN, NICARAGUA
Four members of the Texas DX Society will be operating from Nicaragua, March 4-9th. They plan to be active on 160-10 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. During the ARRL International DX SSB Contest (March 6-7th), they will use the YN2EA callsign in the Multi-Single category. During non-contest periods, they will have two stations active on all modes and bands. Members included are: Cal/WF5W (YN2EA), Mike/K5UO (YN2UO), Keith/ NM5G (YN2MG) and Doug/WB5TKI (YN2TKI). ZS8M, MARION ISLAND
It was announced this past week that activity will take place from the #3 "Most Wanted DXCC Entity" (per the 2009 The DX Magazine survey) in April. Pierre, ZS1HF, will activate Marion Island (AF-021) as ZS8M at the end of April. He will be working on the island for one year as a radio/electronics technician once the supply ship "SA Agulha" returns to Cape Town. More details will be forthcoming from Pierre on operating frequencies, times, QSL info...etc. Watch (QRZ.com).
