DXCC COUNTRY/ENTITY REPORT

3DA, SWAZILAND
Marko, N5ZO/OH6DO, will be active as 3DA0ZO during the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th), as a Single-Op/All-Band entry. QSL via OH0XX, by the bureau or direct to his Panama address: Olli Rissanen, Apartado 0860-00432, Villa Lucre, Panama.

6E, REVILLAGIGEDO (Update)
Members of the radio club "Federacion Mexicana de Radio Experimentadores" (FMRE) will activate Socorro Island (NA-030, WLOTA LH-2941, WW Loc. DK48MS) in the Revillagigedo (XF4) Island group, between mid-November and mid-December. The team will depart Manzanillo on a Navy ship on the 15th or 16th of November. They expect to be active possibly November 17th or 18th, and be on the air for about 30 days. They will use the callsign 6E4LM. Their activity is to celebrate the 75th anni- versary of FMRE. Team members will include Carlos/XE1YK (team leader and FMRE President), Manuel/XE1VVD, Eduardo/XE2YW and Daniel/XE3RBA. Look for activity to be on 160-10 meters plus 6 and 2 meters with operations on CW, SSB, digital modes and the satellites.

ADDED NOTES: They may use the callsigns XF4YK (QSL via XE1YK) and XF4YW (QSL via XE2YW). The group has also planned to possibly stop (on their way back to the mainland) to operate for 3-4 hours from Clarion Island (IOTA NA-115) on 20/17/15 meters, December 18th or 19th, if the Mexican Navy and weather permit. 6H, MEXICO
Ismael, XE1AY, will be active as 6H1AY from Manzanillo during the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th). No operating category was provided. QSL via XE1AY: P.O. Box 440, 28200 Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico.

6Y, JAMAICA (NA-097)
Operator Dave, KY1V, will be active as 6Y1V from Hopewell (WLOTA LH-0214) for the ARRL 10 Meters Contest (December 8-9th) as a Single-Op/High-Power/CW entry. QSL only to OH3RB, direct preferred but bureau ok.

8R, GUYANA
Operators Phil/G3SWH and Jim/G3RTE will be active from Georgetown between February 22-29th (2008). Phil states, "The 2003 'Most Wanted' survey by 425 DX News shows Guyana at #168." The license has already been issued and the callsign will be 8R1PW. As there have been two recent operations from Guyana in 2007 which used mainly SSB, their activity will be on CW only on all bands 160-10 meters concentrating on the LF and the 30/17/12 meter bands. 160 meters operation is possible dependant upon QRN and site conditions. Propagation permitting, they plan to have two stations on the air for as many hours every day as is possible.

Their main objective is to work as many European, North American and ROTW stations on as many bands as possible. QSL via G3SWH, either direct with SAE and adequate return postage (recommended), via Phil's Web site

9G, GHANA
Alan, G3XAQ, will be active as 9G5XA from Accra, November 12-26th. Activity will be CW only. He is also expected to be in the CQ Workd Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (possible 15m) entry. Alan will concentrate on 30 and 17 meters outside of the contest. C9, MOZAMBIQUE (Update/Reminder)
Remember Wayne, W5KDJ, will be going here this week and be active as C91KDJ, November 15-28th. Wayne will concentrate on CW and possibly some RTTY with an emphasis on 160 and 80 meters. His plans are to be active in the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th). His QTH will be about 50 kilometers north of Maputo. Grid Square: KG64ik. Antennas include a 72 foot vertical for 160/80m, 4 Square 40m, dipole for 30m, and a 2 & 3 element yagis at 60 ft for 20-10m. QSL via W5KDJ. CU2, AZORES

CY0, SABLE ISLAND (6m Op!)
A 6 meter DXpediton is planned for 2008 between June 25th - July 5th. Look for Sable Island (NA-063, CISA NS-004) to be activated by Pete/VE3IKV, Dick/K5AND, Chris/W3CMP, and Bill/W4TAA. Activity will be on CW and SSB. The fixed 6m station in FN93 will have 800 watts into a 7 element beam up 40 ft. A portabele 6m station in GN03 will have 100 watts into a 5 element beam up 30 ft. The callsign and frequencies will be announced later.

EARA AWARD CHANGES. Said, SU1SK, informs OPDX that there have been changes in the Egyptian Amateur Radio Assembly (EARA) Award. Please note the following changes in the rules required for obtaining the EARA Award. To qualify for the EARA Award, it requires accumulating 10 points as follows:
1 - Any QSO with an Egyptian amateur radio station on any single band counts as 1 point.
2 - Any QSO with an Egyptian IOTA, JOTA, on any single band counts as 3 points.

FS & PJ7, St. MARTIN AND SINT MAARTEN
Operators Jorn/DG5XJ, Bernd/DH1ND and Jurgen/DJ5HD will be active as PJ7/homecalls from Sint Maarten (NA-105), November 15-28th. HV, VATICAN
Members of the COTA Association (Carabinieri on the Air) will activate HV5PUL between November 19-21st from the amateur radio station at the Pontifical Lateran University in the Vatican City. Activity is to celebrate the recurrence of the proclamation of Saint Maria "Virgo Fidelis", patron saint of the Carabinieri, Italian military police. Their operations will be on all bands and modes on HF and 6 meters.

HZ, SAUDI ARABIA
Thomas, HZ1EX, will be active in the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry. He will operate at HZ1GW's QTH as HZ1GW or his own callsign. PLEASE NOTE: 80m is not available in HZ-land! QSL HZ1GW via GW0RHC or HZ1EX via SM0BYD.

HZ, SAUDI ARABIA
Ahmed, HZ1AN, from Jeddah, can sometimes be found on CW on 40/20/15 meters usually between 1230 and 1600z. He can also be heard sometimes on the Arabian Net on 14252 kHz after 0700z. QSL via DJ9ZB.

IOTA NEWS
AS-023. Hiro, JA6WFM, will be active as JF6YME/6 from Yoron Island (Yoron Shima - JIIA AS-023-013, WLOTA LH-0287), JA6 Amami Island Group, November 21-24th. Activity will be on the HF bands using CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL via the JARL bureau.

NA-029. Art, N3DXX, will be active as VY2/N3DXX from Prince Edward Island (CISA PE-001) in the CQ 160-Meters Contest (January 26-27th), as a Single-Op entry. QSL via his home callsign.

NA-058. Operator Rick, N8OIL, will be active as N8OIL/4 from St. Simons Island between now and November 23rd. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the bureau.

NA-213. Dennis, WA2USA, will be active as WA2USA/4 from Dauphin Island (USI AL-002S, Mobile County, Alabama), November 14-20th. His activity will include an entry in the ARRL Sweepstakes Phone Contest (November 18-19th). Look for activity around the usual island and IOTA frequencies. J8, ST. VINCENT
Dave, G3TBK, will once again be active from here and will sign J88DR between November 21-29th. Activity will be on all HF bands, especially 30/17/12 meters, but mostly on CW. JD1, OGASAWARA
Harry, JG7PSJ, informs OPDX that he will be active as JD1BMH from Chichi-Jima (AS-031, JIIA AS-031-003, WW Loc. QL17CC), in the Ogasawara Island group, from 1000z, December 29th to 2200z, January 4th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters, CW, SSB and RTTY. LU8, ARGENTINA
Members of the Radio Club de los Andes will be active as LU8YE during the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) as a Multi-Op entry. The GACW representatives LW1EXU, LW2DX and LU1DZ will drive more than 1,700 km from Buenos Aires to San Martin de los Andes to participate with the local operators.

PJ4, NETHERLANDS ANTILLES (Update/More Details)
Operators Jeff/KU8E, John/K4BAI and Larry/K5OT will be active as PJ4/homecall from Bonaire (IOTA SA-006) between November 20-27th. Also look for them to be active as PJ4A during the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) as a Multi-Single entry. Jeff states, " I will be doing a lot of operating on 160 meters as PJ4/KU8E before and after the contest like I did back in Feburary when we were there for the ARRL DX CW Contest. In addition to a beverage towards the NW (USA) we will have one toward EU as well. I will be making an effort to work Asia every morning. If 160 is not good, check 80 (3505) or 40 meters (7005). The sunrise in Bonaire is 6:00AM local or 1000z. The antenna will be an inverted L - about 80 ft vertical and a KW (AL-1200)." QSL all callsigns via K4BAI.

Operators Andy/UA3AB and Harry/RA3AUU will be active as S79AB and S79UU, November 19-28th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters and include the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th). QSL via UA3DX. Outside of the contest, low bands is their priority.

SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR
Operators Andrea/IK1PMR and Claudia/IZ1GLO/K2LEO are currently touring South America. The duo is presently in Uruguay (CX). During their stay in the following countries, they plan to be active on the weekdays on CW/RTTY on 30/17/12m and the low bands as well as taking part in the major CW/RTTY contests on the weekend. They will be in CX-land until November 15th signing K2LEO/CX & IK1PMR/CX. Next stop will be Argentina (LU), between November 17-18th possibly signing IK1PMR/LU and K2LEO/LU. They will move onto Paraguay (ZP) and will be active as ZP0R (op IK1PMR) during the CQ World-Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) and ZP6/IZ1GLO on RTTY operations. Activity will also include the ARRL 160m Contest (December 1-2nd) as ZP0R (op IK1PMR) and TARA RTTY Contest as ZP6/IZ1GLO. They then head back to Uruguay and be active in the ARRL 10m Contest (December 8-9th) and sign CW2C (Multi-Op) or IK1PMR/CX and K2LEO/CX. Updates will be posted on the following Web page:

T8, PALAU
Operator Osamu, JR8VSE, will be active as T88SE between November 18-21st. Activity will be on CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK31 and SSTV. QSL via JR8VSE.

T9, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
Operators T90R, T90T, T93J, T96C and T98U will be active as T93J during the CQ Wolrd Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) as a Multi-2 entry.

TL, CENTRAL AFRICA
Dave, W1DV, will be active as TL8DV starting the last week of March (2008) or the first week of April (2008), for about 8 or 9 weeks. Activity will be mainly CW with some Phone. For more information, watch W1DV on (QRZ.com).

TU0, COTE D' IVOIRE
Members of the Association Des Radio-Amateurs Ivoiriens (ARAI) will activate the callsign TU0PAX on November 15th during their yearly Ivorian Peace Fest. Activity is to celebrate the "Peace Day Commemorative in Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast)." Look for operations on all HF bands, SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK31. V4, ST. KITTS (NA-104)
Andy, N2NT, will be active as V47NT from the QTH of V47KP during the CQ Wolrd Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power entry. QSL via W2RQ.

VP2M, MONTSERRAT (Update)
Operators Larry/K3VX (VP2MVX), Will/K9FO (VP2MFO), Don/K9NR (VP2MNR), Carl/K9CS (VP2MSC), plus Greg/WR9L (callsign pending) and Paul/W2EP (callsign pending) will be active from here between November 20th and December 3rd. Activity will include entries in the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) and ARRL 160 Contests (November 30th- December 2nd). Activity outside the contests will be on 160-10 meters, mostly CW but some SSB, RTTY and PSK. QSL all callsigns via K9CS.

VP8, ANTARCTICA
Alan, VK6CQ (aka VK0LD, VP8PJ anf 9V1DX), will be active again soon from the Patriot Hills Base, Ellsworth Land, but this time for only a short stay (7-10 days). Specific dates were not provided. Look for him to sign VP8PJ during his limited spare time. Activity will be mostly CW on 40/30/20 meters. QSL via DL5EBE.

VP9, BERMUDA

XT, BURKINA FASO
Michael, F1IQH, will be active as XT2WC from Bobo Dioulasso starting early December (the 6th was mentioned) through early January. QSL via F1IQH.

ZF, CAYMAN ISLANDS
Ed, K3IXD, will be active as ZF2XD in CQ WW WPX RTTY Contest, February 9-10th (2008), as a Single-Op/All-Bands/Low-Power entry. The IOTA is NA-016, the grid locater is EK99. Outside the contest look for ZF2XD from February 6-11th (2008), on 80-10 meters on SSB and the digital modes. QSL to K3IXD.
