Remember to look for Ronnie, SM7DKF, to be active
this week as 3B8/SM7DKF between November 8-24th. This will be a holiday
style operation with activity on the usual IOTA frequencies, mostly SSB

6E, REVILLAGIGEDO
Members of the radio club "Federacion Mexicana de Radio
Experimentadores" (FMRE) will activate Socorro Island (NA-030, WLOTA
LH-2941, WW Loc. DK48MS) in the Revillagigedo (XF4) Island group, between
November 15th and December 17th. They will use the callsign 6E4LM. Their
activity is to celebrate the 75th anniversary of FMRE. Team members will
include Carlos/XE1YK, Manuel/XE1VVD, Eduardo/XE2YW and Daniel/XE3RBA.
Look for activity to be on 160-10 meters plus 6 and 2 meters, and 70cm,
with operations on CW, SSB, digital modes and the satellites. The operators
will focus on 160m and 6m, where they feel XF4 is mostly needed. QSL direct

6Y, JAMAICA (Ops Needed!)

others will be active as 6Y1V during the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest
(November 24-25th) possibly as a Multi-Single or Multi-2 entry. Tony
states that they are looking for one or two good experienced CW ops to

7W53, ALGERIA
Members of the Bou Saada ARC (7X5VRK) of Bou Saada will
activate 7W53N during the month of November to commemorate the 53th
anniversary of the beginning of the National Algerian Revolution. QSL

8P, BARBADOS
Tom, W2SC, will be active as 8P5A during the CQWW DX CW
Contest (November 24-25th) as Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power entry. QSL

9M6 & 9M0, EAST MALAYSIA ANDSPRATLY ISLANDS (Asian Tour Update)
Ed, N1UR,
who was recently active from Bhutan as A52UR, will be active as 9M6AAC
from the Hillview Gardens ARC station in East Malaysia for the CQ World
Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power
entry. QSL via N2OO. He also plans to be active from the Spratly Islands
(9M0) between March 22-30th. A callsign has not yet been assigned, but

A7, QATAR
Bill, NM7H (aka G0MKT and YI9WF), is expected to be active
as A7/G0MKT, possibly by the time you read this, and he will be here
until January 5th (2008). Activity will be primarily CW with some PSK
and some SSB on 40-10 meters. He may even be on 6 meters if the band

AH0/KH0, MARIANA ISLANDS (Update)
Operators Koya/JI5RPT and Toru/JI5USJ
will be active as AH0V and KH0/JI5USJ from Saipan, January 10-14th (2008).
Activity will be on 80-6 meters, also 60m for USA, the satellites, CW, SSB
and Digital modes. Operations will be from Saipan Rental Shack. Koya
states, "I'll try to operate on 60m. If you want a SKED on 60m band,

AO5, SPAIN (Polar Ship Update)
A group of Spainish (EA5s) operators who
were scheduled to operate on board the polar research ship "Hesperides"
this past weekend had to postpone their activity until this coming weekend
(November 10-11th). The ship is now in a dry dock for technical checking.
The operation will use the callsign AO5URD. This activity will be valid
for the Antarctic Challenge as a polar ship.
E5/S, SOUTH COOK ISLANDS
Operators George/K5KG and Ron/KK9K will be
active as E51MMM and E51NNN, respectively, from Rarotonga Island (OC-013)
in the South Cook Islands group, November 12th through December 1st. They
plan to concentrate heavily on 160/80 meters. All QSL requests should go
to K5KG.
EA8, CANARY ISLANDS (AF-004)
Operator Slavo, SP2JMB, will be active as
EA8/SP2JMB from November 7-12th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters, CW
and SSB. QSL via SP2JMB, direct or by the Bureau.
EF8, CANARY ISLANDS (AF-004)
Operators Valery/RD3AF, Alex/RZ3AZ, Yuri/
RA9JR and Yuri/UA9AM will be active as EF8M during the CQ World Wide DX
CW Contest (November 24-25th), as a Multi-2 entry. QSL via RX3DU (QRZ.com).
FR, REUNION ISLAND (Also Mauritius)
Pekka, OH2YY, will be active as
FR/OH2YY from Reunion Island between November 12-15th. He will also be
active from Mauritius as 3B8/OH2YY between November 16-22nd. Pekka tells
OPDX that he will be operating on 40-10 meters SSB using 100 watts into
vertical/dipole antennas. QSL via his home callsign, by the bureau or
direct to his home address.
HB0, LIECHTENSTEIN
Look for the "Hungarian Traveling Amateur Radio
Team" to be active from here again between November 6-14th. Operators
will be Laci/HA0HW, Tomi/HA4DX and Geza/HA4XG. They will operate from
Masescha (JN47SD, 1350 m ASL) as HB0/homecall. Activity will be on the
HF bands, CW, SSB, maybe some digital modes plus 2m on tropo and MS.
Their main focus will be on 160 and 80 meters using an Inverted-L
antennas and amplifiers. On other bands they will use DunaX gps. QSL
via HA Bureau is "OK" or direct via the operator's (QRZ.com) address.
IOTA NEWS
EU-171. Klaus, DK9LO, will be active as OZ/DK9LO from Vendsyssel-Thy/
Nordjylland (NJ-001 for the Danish Islands Award), November
3-16th. Look for activity around the usual IOTA frequencies.

OC-203. Steve, G4EDG, will be active from Stewart Island as ZL4/G4EDG (or possibly his own ZL callsign by the time the operation starts), November 5-7th. Activity will be on 40-17 meters CW only. QSL direct only to his home callsign. Logs will be uploaded to LoTW ASAP.
OC-144. Operator Hotang, YC0IEM, will be active from Bangka Island between November 18th and December 5th. No info on bands/modes was provided. QSL via IZ8CCW.
OC-186. OP CANCELLED! Adhi, YB3MM, who was scheduled to be active from Karimunjawa Island during the weekend of the CQ WW DX SSB Contest, had to cancel due to a transceiver problem. Look for him to try it again during the CQ WW DX CW Contest (November 24-25th). He will sign as YB3MM/2. QSL via IZ8CCW.
J5, GUINEA BISSAU (Update)
The "F6KOP TEAM" is planning a DXpedition to
Guinea Bissau on Bubaque Island (AF-020 and WLOTA 1145) between January
11-21st (2008). Their callsign will be J5C. This is the same group that
was active as XT2C from Burkina Faso. They hope to be able to use all
their skills and experiences gained from the past XT2C operation as well
as being active on as many bands as possible simultaneously. Activity
will be on 160-10 meters, but the team will focus on the lower bands
160-40m). There will be no 6 meters because this band is not allowed in
J5-land. Modes will be mainly CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK31, PSK63 and MFSK16.
As usual, they will try to make contacts on SSTV at the end of the
DXpedition. Among their goals is to accomplish the first ever QSO between
Japan (JA) and Guinea Bissau (J5) on 160m.
The group will also dedicate this J5C DXpedition in memory of their beloved friend Gilles Simeon, F5PVF, past President of F6KOP ARC, who became a Silent Key in September (2007). The J5C team consists of: Frank/F4AJQ (Team leader), Gerard/F2JD, Gerard/F2VX, Pascal/F5JSD, Mathieu/F5PED, Frank/F5TVG, John/F5VHQ, Serge/ F6AML, Jean-Paul/F8BJI, Romain/F8BUI, Benoit/F8PDR, Michel/FM5CD, Bernard/ F9IE, Dieter/OE8KDK, Bill/N2WB and Bob/N6OX. The QSL route are via Franck, F5TVG (address correct in all of the major International and French Callbooks). The "F6KOP TEAM" is looking for sponsors and donations for this DXpedition. J7, DOMINICA (NA-101)
Operators Harald/DL5HAQ, Manfred/DK6HA and
Siegfried/DL3HBZ will be active as J75/DK0RZ, November 4-17th. Activity
will be on all bands and modes. QSL via DK0RZ (QRZ.com).
KP2, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS
Operators Ann/KP2YL and Brian/KP2HC, who have
relocated from St. Croix to California, will visit the island November
15-23rd. Expect to hear them throughout the week on HF SSB and CW. Brian
will monitor 6m and take full advantage of any openings on that band.
Ann will take part in a Multi-op effort for ARRL November Sweepstakes
Phone with Bill/W2UDT and John/NP2B from the NP2B contest station. For
those who have wondered, Brian advises that Ann has recovered nicely from
her back surgery, and she is very excited about returning to the air from

LN3, NORWAY
Members of the Vestfold Contest Club (LA3Z) of Stavern
will be active as LN3Z during the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November
24-25th), as a Milti-Single entry. Operators mentioned are Harald/LA5UF,

MD, ISLE OF MAN (EU-116)
Operators Rosel/DL3KWR and Hardy/DL3KWF will
be on holiday here between November 17-30th. Look for them to sign
MD/homecall and be active "after Tea Time" mainly on CW and the WARC
bands. Hardy plans to work on RTTY and PSK31. Also, look for activity

PA20, NETHERLANDS (Special Event)
Remember to look for members of the
Netherlands Airforce Radio Amateur Society (NAFRAS - PI4NAF) to be active
as PA20NARAS between now and November 19th. Activity will be on HF and
VHF. This activity is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Society.
PJ2, NETHERLANDS ANTILLES
Members of the Caribbean Contesting Consortium
(CCC) will activate Signal Point Station on Curacao (SA-006, WLOTA
LH-0942) as PJ2/homecall, November 20-26th. Operators mentioned are
Geoff/W0CG, Jeff/K8ND, Jim/W0NB, Jim/W8WTS, Gerry/G0RTN and possibly
others. Their main goal is the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November
24-25th), as a Multi-2 entry using the callsign PJ2T. QSL PJ2T via N9AG.

A international group of operators will activate Isla
del Coco (NA-012) between February 5th or 6-15th. They will use the
callsign TI9K. They plan to have 3-4 stations on 160-6 meters (plus 60m).
Modes will be CW, SSB, RTTY and possibly PSK31. Organizer is Gunter/TI7WGI.

TX5, CLIPPERTON ISLAND (Update/Press Release)
The following is a press
release from Jay, K4ZLE: "Clipperton 2008 -- This press release formally
announces the 2008 DXpedition to Clipperton Island. The DXpedition will
be led by N6OX with N7CQQ and K4SV as the management team. The goal is to
make 100,000+ contacts, including working as many European, Mediterranean
and African stations where Clipperton is high on the most wanted list.
Departure date is February 28, 2008, arriving on Clipperton on March 4+-.
The team plans to operate 12 to 14 days, depending on conditions, using
the call TX5C.
Currently Clipperton is ranked 35th on the most needed countries list worldwide. The team of 22 or so amateur operators look forward to meeting or exceeding the performance expectations of modern DXpeditions. In addition to the ham activities, there will be a series of scientific studies done by the team.
*Clipperton Island (French: Īle de Clipperton and as the real French name Īle de la Passion) is a nine-square-kilometer coral atoll in the North Pacific Ocean, southwest of Mexico and west of Costa Rica, at 10°18?N, 109°13?W. It has no permanent inhabitants. DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power entry.

VK4, AUSTRALIA
Operators JA1OZK, JA1CGC, JA1OHP, JF1TAB, JH1FUD, JL1LOW,
JQ2IQW and JK1DRM will be active as VK4AHY during the CQ World Wide DX CW
Contest (November 24-25th) as a Multi-? entry. Operators will be there
between November 23-28th and plan to be active outside of the contest

VK9, NORFOLK ISLAND (OC-005)
Ulli, DL2AH, is now active as VK9ANH until
November 15th. Activity has been mainly on 20 meters SSB. He is expected

VK9, COCOS-KEELING ISLANDS
Operators Bernd/VK2IA and Jan/DJ8NK will be
active as VK9AA and VK9CCC, respectively, between November 18-26th.
Activity will be on 160-10 meters, CW, SSB and RTTY. Look for VK9AA in

VP5, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS (FISTS Op)
Jim, K7WA, one of the members
of the VP5W contest team for the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest, states
he will be in VP5-land between November 17-30th. Before and after the
contest the contest group will be active as VP5/homecall. Jim will be
active on the FISTS frequencies looking for contacts with other members.

XU, CAMBODIA
Jack, F6BUM, will be active as XU7BUM from November 22nd
to December 12th. Activity will be limited to his spare time and on CW
