Vlad, UA4WHX, is currently active as 3DA0VB. The length of his stay is unknown. Activity has been mainly on 80/40/30/20/17/15 meters CW. However, he has done some 17 meters SSB. QSL via his home callsign.

8Q, MALDIVES
Remember to look for Simon, M0BOX, to be active as 8Q7BO from the Kuredu Island Resort (AS-018), April 7-20th. (See OPDX.752) Activity will be during his spare time on all bands 40-10 meters, the WARC bands included. Simon will concentrate on the digital modes, mainly PSK31 plus RTTY and maybe SSTV if requested, and of course SSB. He will NOT be accepting SKED requests before activation. DAYTON HAMVENTION NEWS
The North Coast Contesters are pleased to host the 14th Annual Dayton Contest Dinner. The 2006 Contest Dinner tickets are ready, on hand and on sale now! Special thanks to DX Engineering for sponsoring the tickets! Master of Ceremonies for the Contest dinner is John Dorr, K1AR. The 2006 Contest Hall of Fame Inductions will be formally announced by the CQ WorldWide Contest Director and CQ Contest Hall of Fame member, Bob Cox, K3EST. Rusty Epps, W6OAT, will be the featured speaker.

The Contest dinner will be held on Saturday night, May 20th, at 6:30 PM. Cash bar opens at 5:30 PM. The dinner will be located at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (Official Contest Hotel) 5th and Jefferson Streets (Next to the Convention Center) Dayton (Downtown), Ohio, in the VAN CLEVE BALLROOM. Price is 34.00 USDs per person.

DXCC NEWS
Bill Moore, NC1L, ARRL DXCC Branch Manager, informs that the DXCC is pleased to announce accreditation of the following operations:

EL2, LIBERIA
Pat, EI5IF, who is currently serving with the Irish Army contingent in Liberia, is once again active as EL2PM. The length of his stay this time is unknown. He was heard this past week on 20 meters SSB after or a little before 0900z and then moved to 17 meters SSB around 1045z. QSL via his home callsign.

EP, IRAN
Two stations have been active over the past week. Ali, EP3AG, seems to like 20 meters SSB and RTTY. Times to watch are between 1245-1600z and sometimes between 0515-1000z. QSL via info on QRZ.com. Also, look for operator Shahryar "Yar", EP4SP, who can sometimes be found on 30/20/15 meters CW between 1030-1600z. He has also be on SSB and PSK. QSL via direct to his home callsign.

HR, HONDURAS
Marco, EA1APV, continues his Central American activity this week (see OPDX.751) as HR5/EA1APV from Copan Ruins. The Copan Ruins are the most important ancients from Mayan Culture. From April 7-14th, he will be active as HR6/EA1APV from Roatan Island (in the Bahia Island Group - IOTA NA-057). QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the bureau.

IOTA NEWS
AF-004. Operators Michael/DL3FCG, Lars/DL6FCB, Fred/DL8MG, Reiner/DL4ZF and crew will be active as EA8/homecall from Tenerife Island between April 28th and May 5th. They plan to have two stations active on all HF bands. QSL via the bureau to homecalls.

AS-043. Operators JA1UNS, JI1PLF, 7NGMK, 7L4PVR and 7N4VPS plan to be active as homecall/1 from Hachijo Island (JIIA AS-043-003), JA1 South Izu, from May 19-22nd. Activity will be on all HF bands CW and SSB. QSL via their home callsigns. You can go direct or via the bureau.

EU-009. Members of the Orkney Amateur Radio Club will be activating the Isle of Shapinsay (IOSA OR-07), between Thursday, April 13th and Sunday, April 17th (subject to weather and sea conditions). They plan to have two full power stations on 80/40/30/20/17/15/10 meters CW and SSB. The callsign for this operation will be MM0MWW. They will have a Web page devoted to this DXpedition which will be updated when necessary at:

EU-120. Geoff, G0PFH, will active as GX2UG from Holy Island (Lindisfarne) from April 6-8th. Activity will be on 40 and 20 meters SSB only. QSL via G2UG (QRZ.com)(QRZ.com).

EU-125. Operators Mike/DK6QW, Claus/DF8QJ and Reinhard/DL6YFB will be active as OZ/homecall from Fanoe Island (NS-002 for the Danish Islands Award), April 15-22nd. Sporadic activity will be on 80-10 meters CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31 during the above dates. QSL via the operator's respective home callsign, direct or by the bureau.

EU-146. Members from the Royal Union of Belgian Amateur Radio (UBA) from the Antwerp Section OSA will be activating Schouwen Duivenland from the Nieuwschouwen (West Schouwen) Lighthouse (ARLHS NET-029) between April 3-7th. Activity will be on all HF bands and all modes using the club callsign signing as PA/ON4OSA. Operators will be ON4AWT, ON4CF, ON6JK and possibly others. QSL via ON4AWT. NA-110. Members of the Low Country Contest Club will be active as NU4SC from Folly Island (SC-015S for the U.S. Islands Award, Charleston County, South Carolina), April 22-23rd. They will also activate the Morris Island Lighthouse (ARLHS USA-515 and WLH K-104 for "The World Lighthouse Award" - TWLHD) for the ARLHS Spring Lights QSO Party. The team will be located on the northwest end of Folly Island. Activity will be mostly SSB on the HF bands, on the usual IOTA and lighthouse frequencies. NA-137. Mark, KO1U, will be active in the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 29-30th) from both Cousins (USI ME-041S) and Littlejohn (USI ME-065) Islands, in the Casco Bay, Cumberland County, Maine. Look for activity on all bands. QSL via his home callsign, direct (QRZ.com)(QRZ.com) or through the bureau.

NA-142. Operators Jim/WB9PZB, Carol/WB9PZA and Jerry/WB9ONU will be active as WB9PZB/4 from Santa Rosa Island (FL-003S for the U.S. Islands Award, Escambia/Okaloosa Counties, Florida), between April 30th and May 4th. Look for them to be active on 3765 kHz (+/-) or 7265 kHz (+/-) between 1400-1600z and on 14265 kHz (+/-) between 1700-1900z. Their activity may be limited because this is a vacation trip. OC-042. Rag, LA6FJA, will be active as DU1/KI4KJP from Luzon Island, Philippines, between April 6th and May 1st. Activity will be on 80/40/30/20/17 meters CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31. QSL via WY4N (QRZ.com)(QRZ.com).

J6, ST. LUCIA
Oleg, KD7WPJ/UR5BCP, has informed OPDX that his DXpedition scheduled for March 30th through April 5th has been postponed. This is due to some "immigration service requirement". He plans to resolve the problem but does not know how long it will take. More details will be forthcoming.

OA, PERU
Just a remonder that Daniel, DL5YWM, will be in active from Lima as OA4/DL5YWM between April 7-30th (See OPDX.752). Activity will be limited to his freetime on CW/SSB. Daniel informs OPDX that he will "try" 160m and 80m but it is difficult because of the very high QRM level in Lima City. QSL to his homecall using the (QRZ.com) address. Also, remember that he will be joined later by operators Marcial/OA4DM, Jorge/OA4BHY and Daniel/DL5SE to activate Isla Chincha del Centro (IOTA SA-073) possibly between April 22-26th (+/- 1 day, depenting on the weather and the sea). The lighthouse there will be activated and the reference number is WLOTA 362. QSL for this operation is via Jeff, DL5WM (ok on (QRZ.com)QRZ.com).

PJ4, NETHERLANDS ANTILLES
Operators Harvey/K0RAY, Clyde/N0BDS, Philip/N0KE, Kelly/N0VD and Kyle/WA4PGM will be active as PJ4E from Bonaire during the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 28-29th) as a Multi-? entry. QSL via WA4PGM direct only.

QSL INFO AND NEWS
Tom, DL2OBO, announced that he has uploaded his QSOs for his recent HB0/DL2OBO operation to the LoTW. QSOs included more than 1100 160m QSOs. More details on his operation with updated pictures are available at:

Jose, N4BAA, has announced that he is the QSL Manager for KG4WW and KG44WW until further notice. He also states, "Bill (KG4WW) is moving here to NORFOLK, VA, in April and has asked me to handle his QSLs until he get here..."

Several reports indicate that the R1MVW QSLs are or have been received in the mail over the past week.

Bill, VK4FW, informs OPDX that effective March 6th all postage rates have gone up in Australia. Airmail letter (up to 50 grams) is now AUD 1.85.

Dominik, DL5EBE, who recently returned from Scotland, received a package with VP8PJ QSLs from the QSL shop (Berlin, Germany). Cards were expected to be answered this past weekend and put into the mail on Monday morning. He states, "They (QSLs) look very nice!"

S0, WESTERN SAHARA
Antonio, EA5RM (S01R), informs OPDX that the S01R Western Sahara Dxpedition Web page has been updated. A few pictures of their QTH in the heart of the Sahara desert has been added and the announcement of Hitoshi, JH2UVL, will be the teams pilot for Japan. The team is departing from Alicante (Spain), April 10th, and they will spend their first night in Rabuni, capital city of the Saharauian refugee camps in Algeria. After their stay, the team will travel in 3 cars from Rabuni to Tifariti during a 8 hours trip into the desert. Probably, SŲ1R will be on air between April 11-16th with 4 different stations on 160-10 meters on CW, SSB, PSK31 and RTTY. Check out the news at:

SPECIAL EVENT
Members of the "REMO" radio club in Saratov will activate their club station RZ4CWW with the special callsign R4G between April 1-20th, to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the first astronaut space flight on board the Russian spaceship "VOSTOK". On April 12, 1961, the first astronaut Yuri Gagarin touched down near Saratov on the left bank of the river Volga. A special QSL card is available via RZ4CWW (direct or by the bureau).

VI9, NORFOLK ISLAND
Bill, VK4FW, informs OPDX that everything is basically in place for their special operation to Norfolk Island. All equipment is about to be freighted in, and the following operators are all confirmed (with 2 more still trying to finalize their travel arrangements): Ron/VE7NS, Eddie/VK4AN, VK4DV, John/VK5PO and Bill/VK4FW. Bill states,

"They still have a spot for a good CW operator. As plane flights are very much full, it is ever increasingly hard to actually get a flight between May 24th and June 21st."

There will be 2 QSL routes available to make sure that everyone has a way of getting a QSL card. There will be 2 different QSL cards available (one full color and one a standard single color). All direct QSL cards are to go to: ODXG, PO Box 612, Childers, 4660, Australia. Donations of 5 USDs or more will get special priority when QSLing begins. QSLing will be very quick. The other QSL route will be via the bureau address to be supplied soon. Please note that 2 USDs or IRC are required for standard postage. Envelopes received with insufficent postage will be sent via the bureau system. VISALIA DX CONVENTION NEWS (Topband Dinner)
The Topbander's DX Dinner will take place on Friday, April 21st, at 6:30 PM in the banquet room at the Sizzler Steak House, 2121 Caldwell Ave. in Visalia, California, during the International DX Convention there. Dinner attendees will order from the Sizzler menu and pay their tabs individually. There is no fee to attend. These will take place at the Convention hotel on Saturday, April 22nd at 4:00 PM in the Maple room where Mike Mraz, N6MZ, will give a presentation about the 160-meter aspects of the FT5XO and 3B9C DXpeditions. YJ0, VANUATU
Guenter, DL2AWG, will be in Port Villa between April 19th and May 1st. He has requested the callsign YJ0AWG (or possibly YJ0WG). Activity will be on 40-10 meters SSB/RTTY/PSK. Equipment will be a FT-857 with a 300w PA and Triple Leg antenna for 40-10m. QSL via DL2AWG.
