ZS8MI QSL STATUS. Ludwig, ZS6WLC, reported on May 10th: "Some of you would have received your cards, and some of you have not. I will be getting additional QSL cards tomorrow (as I have run out of cards), and will finalise all outstanding cards. If you have sent your card to the address below, your card has most likely been received and you will get a card back. If you have used the ZS6M post box address, it could have been stolen, so if you have not received a card and used that address, mail a card to the address below. I am sorry about the delay and interruptions, but I am out of E-mail contact quite regularly due to work reasons. Also, I have to mention that my QSL Manager, OM Bushy Roode, ZS6M, ex-ZS6YQ, had a serious stroke 2 weeks ago and is still in a coma in the hospital. I am meeting his son tomorrow and we will have a look to see whether he has outstanding cards as well." The address to be used is: Ludwig Combrinck Ph.D, P.O. BOX 443, Krugersdorp 1740, South Africa.

Operation will be on 20 meters around 14190 kHz, plus or minus. They will also be using IRLP. The operation will take place while the train is traveling on a short piece of the original track left over from the Kettle Valley Railroad line. Return trip takes about an hour and a half. QSL w/SASE to VA7DP.

SV9, CRETE
Claude, HB9CRX, will be active as SV9/F8UFT/p from Kissamos, July 17- 31st. Activity will be on 40-10 meters, the WARC bands included, CW only. QSL via F6ICG, direct or via the French Bureau.

TI, COSTA RICA (Update and EA8)
Luis, EA5KY, updates OPDX on Tono's, EA9CP, upcoming TI operation from San Jose. His callsign will be TI2/EA9CP. His favorite band is 20 meters (14250), but he will also be on 15 and 10 meters. QSL via his home callsign, direct or via the bureau. After this operation, Tono will be in EA8-land, June 15-23rd. His callsign is not assigned yet, but it will probably be EA8/EA9CP. QSL via his home callsign, direct or via the bureau.

TT8, CHAD
Philippe "Fil", F4EGS, will once again be active as TT8PK from May 20th to July 20th. He is in N'Djamena City for professional reasons, so his time will be limited. He plans to be on all modes (RTTY, PSK, SSB and may be a little CW) with a FT100D and a vertical MA5V. If you have need for Chad on a band, ask him on the air, and he'll maybe QSY. QSL via F4EGS, direct or by the bureau. ADDED NOTES: It has been reported that Philippe has sent all of his documentation for his past operations from Chad, Togo, Tadjikistan and Gabon, to the ARRL. It was also mentioned that in August, Philippe is expected to be active from Kabul, Afghanistan. More information is forthcoming.

TT8, CHAD
QSL Manager Dennis, PA7FM, provides the following update on the TT8M and TT8AMO operations. Michael, TT8M, is now QRT for about one month and will returned back home for a few weeks off. He will return to Chad around mid-June bringing antennas for 6m and probably also 2m. He will try to do EME on both bands then (JT6M/WSJT), and of course, he will try to catch every sporadic E opening into EU. In the meantime, Pierre, TT8AMO, will still be in Chad and will remain active in his spare time. Since Pierre will probably not be "out in the field" until Michael returns, he should be active about everyday. He will also be able to use Michael's antenna + antenna tuner, so he will be on all bands now. Dennis states, "QSLs for both operations are being designed right now and they will be printed as soon as possible." More information is available on:

http://www.pa7fm.nl

VP2E, ANGUILLA
Four members of the Florida DXpedition Group, Inc., will be here between October 25th and November 1st for the CQ WW SSB Contest. Participating members are Bill/W4WX (VP2EWX), David/WA4ET (VP2EDP), Cory/N1WON (VP2ECM) and Clarence/W9AAZ (VP2EAZ). Each member will operate a different band during the contest as a Single-Band entry. Look for them on all modes on 160-6 meters before and after the contest. QSL direct to their home callsigns.

VQ9, CHAGOS ISLANDS
Larry, VQ9LA (aka WD0HSP), innforms OPDX that he will be off the island (Diego Garcia) and QRT for 3 months between May 4th and July 25th. He mentions that he really enjoyed all the 30 meters LP CW/RTTY QSOs during the month of April. Larry states, "73 to all and see everyone on the low bands next season."

XY, MYANMAR (IOTA Op)
Look for Nick, UT4UT, to be active as XY4U from Thebyu (aka Sandy) Island (IOTA AS-167), May 20-20nd. Activity is expected to be on, or near, the CW and SSB IOTA frequencies with CW being his main mode. The operation will begin around 1000z, May 20th and end around 0900z, May 22nd. QSL via UT4UT (QRZ.com).

YB5, INDONESIA
Bob, ex-9V1GO, is now active as YB5AQB. Bob thinks he will be here for at least two years, so 9V-land is effectively over and YB-land is his new QTH. Bob reportedly has not been too active on the low bands for the past few weeks, but that is changing. Bob will have two stations in Indonesia. Look for him on the weekends from Batam and during the week from Jakarta. In Batam, he has a complete station for the low bands which is operational. In Jakarta, his apartment is on the 21st floor and the antennas are being put up for the low bands, and it is not operational yet. He states, "So, during the week, all bands, all modes and not much 160/80 until I get QRO in Jakarta. Weekends when I fly back (1 hour 20 minutes from Jakarta) to Batam, low bands mostly. QSL via OK1DOT, direct only.

YI, IRAQ
Ilian, LZ1CNN, is now active as YI9LZ. His current activity is on 40-10 meters. In about a week, he will be active on the 80 and 160 meter bands. He preferably works on CW, but he will also be on SSB too. He'd like to participate in contests (depending on his duties of course). Ilian will stay there for about 6 months or possibly until the end of the year. QSL via LZ1ZF, by the bureau or direct to: George Vodenicharov, P.O. Box 8, 6000 Stara Zagora, BULGARIA. ADDED NOTE: YI9LZ counts for 3 points for the "St. Teodosii Tyrnovski Award". Details are available on:
