DXCC NEWS
* Bill Moore, NC1L, ARRL DXCC Branch Manager, would like to remind
everyone that the cutoff date for the next Honor Roll list is rapidly
approaching. In order to appear in the next list that will appear in
August 2003 QST, you must be current on the DXCC Honor Roll as of
March 31, 2003. Applications must be received or postmarked March 31st,
2003. With the addition of Ducie Island in 2002, the minimum number
of entities required is 326, and these include only current entities.
Deleted entities do not count towards Honor Roll. For Number One Honor
Roll, the total is 335 current entities. Plaques are still available for
anyone who is currently, or previously on the Honor Roll. See the DXCC
Web site for the latest order form.
* POSSIBLE TWO NEW ENTITIES AND ONE DELETION??? Not yet, but getting closer. Yugoslavia's Parliament formally abolished its nation (Yugoslavia) on Tuesday, February 4th. The remaining two republics of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) will now become two loose unions with semi-independence. According to a deal arranged by the European Union with an aim to keep the two republics together, Serbia and Montenegro will continue to share the capital of Belgrade, and a joint administration for defense and foreign affairs. With the approval by the two chambers of the Yugoslav parliament, the birth of a new country called "Serbia and Montenegro" was formed. According to the ARRL Web page, "The new arrangement will have little immediate impact on Amateur Radio. For DXCC purposes, Serbia and Montenegro will be considered a single entity--at least for the time being--and amateurs there are expected to continue using YU/YT prefixes. The situation could change in three years when residents of the two republics would be allowed to vote to stick together or go their separate ways."

Subject: ZL7C Chatham Islands DXpedition QSL Info.
To: Tedd Mirgliotta OPDX Bulletin [kb8nw@barf80.nshore.org]
MIME-version: 1.0
The Kermadec Dx Association wishes to announce the the blank QSL cards for the Chatham Islands DXpedition which took place in October 2002 arrived in New Zealand on the 27th January. The cards were provided courtesy of Vertex Standard (formerly Yaesu, Japan) who have been one of our major sponsors for many years.
With the almost 5000 envelopes containing many thousands of QSO's received to date we have begun processing these cards and we expect this process to continue for approximately another 2 - 3 weeks.
We have already noticed that there is a significant number (in excess of 100 to date) that do not contain Self Addressed Envelopes OR return postage. These cards WILL be sent via the bureau with a suitable notation.
To those who sent more than the minimal number of IRC's or greenstamps we thank you for your support which will be used offset some of our expenses.
We hope to have all incoming cards answered within the next two weeks and we will be doing a BULK mail out by ECOMOMY POST on 1 March 2003. Please be patient and await the arrival of your cards If by the end of April you do not have your cards then may we suggest that this is an appropriate time to consider whether to send a 2nd request.
All second requests received before the 1 May will not be answered until all cards have been filed When filing is complete a check will be made to see if the first requests have been answered. As it will be some weeks after the 1st May before all our cards are sorted please do not ask if we have received your cards in the interim.
Incoming bureau cards along with those that did not include return addressed envelopes or return postage will be processed when time permits.
To all those who used our previous Wellington Addresses I cannot guarantee that we will have received your cards.
Please feel free to pass the above information on by whatever means to as many others as possible.
Finally, we have enjoyed your company to make ZL7C yet another very successfull Kermadec DX Association DXpedition. With our three DXpeditions to date we have put in excess of 200,000 QSO's in the logs of many fellow hams and we are delighted to have provided new ones for some of you.
Please note that any replies to this message should be direct and not via the reflectors.
Kind Regards and good Dxing
