3A, MONACO
Reports indicate that the administration of Monaco has now authorized operations on 6 meters for amateur. This is after a 1 month test which proved that there was no interference to other services. Laura, 3A2MD, who is genrally active on all bands, is attempting to get something up for this band. Until then, look for her on 10 meters (28016 or 28446 kHz) between 0630-0700z and on 15 meters (around 21032 kHz) between 1000-1100z before she moves to 20 meters CW/SSB.

By the time you read this the DXpedition team will be gathering in Nadi, Fiji. It seems that there may be a delay due to one of team members did not get the U.S. visa, and had to travel a different way. The whole team will have to stay on Fiji until he arrives which will cause late DXpedition start (about 12 hours). Operation was expected to start February 22nd. Their final itinerary is posted on:

http://www.kragujevac.co.yu/3d2/general/general.htm

ATTENTION ALL DXERS
Paul, K5RT, CQ WAZ Awards Manager, reports the following: "PLEASE do NOT send WAZ applications to K1MEM's address. Jim has been deceased for over a year now. WAZ applications continue to arrive at his QTH nearly every week. Please help us spread the word. We at CQ have tried very hard to make sure that the revised WAZ rules received a very wide audience since last January. The WAZ rules can be found on several national radio society web pages, in several amateur radio magazines and on CQ's own web page (in 7 languages even!). The URL for the CQ web site is:

http:www.cq-amateur-radio.com
Once again, please help get the word out to the DX Community at large. Jim's widow should not have to be bothered with having to forward WAZ applications after this long a period..... DX is! Vy 73 Paul K5RT CQ WAZ Awards Manager"

QSL INFO AND NEWS
Juan, CO8TW, was active in this past weekend's ARRL CW Contest as a Single Band/Low Power (10 meters) entry. QSL via IZ8CCW. Log will be available at: http://www.qsl.net/co8tw/

The QSL Manager for EI9KLH (Kinsale Light House) reports that all direct QSL requests have now been dealt with, and all bureau cards received prior to February 1st have been responded to. The Manager apologizes for the delay in dealing with the large volume of cards received.

Rob Snieder, PA5ET, informs OPDX that all direct QSLs for V26EA, V26ET, V26FM, V26WP, VP2MPA, 8P9JR, 8P9JS, 8P9JT and 8P9JU contacts are mailed. The bureau cards will be processed in the coming weeks. QSLs can still be requested via PA5ET: Rob Snieder, Van Leeuwenstraat 137, 2273 VS Voorburg, The Netherlands.

Bill/K6KM and Ginny/N6RER have just returned from Norfolk Island and operated as VK9NOO and VK9NNN, respectively. Bill states to QSL VK9NNN and VK9NOO to K6KM or N6RER (same address). They want to have picture cards printed, so it will be at least a couple of months before they can start sending cards to the deserving. If you have an urgent need for a VK9NNN or VK9NOO QSL, Bill states, "Send us a SASE with 'URGENT' on the envelope and we will edit an old VK9LOO card for you. An e-mail follow up would be helpful."

Nat, WZ3AR, was active from Chinoteaque Island, VA (USI# VA-002S) over the past weekend. This operation counts for IOTA NA-083 (the VA State Group) as well as the very rare Accomack County, VA. All QSLs are via WZ3AR either direct or through the bureau. ADDED NOTE: Chinoteaque Island is often confused with Assateaque Island. Assateaque Island is a National Seashore that runs on the coast of both MD and VA less then one-mile from Chinoteaque at their closest point. Chinoteaque Island counts for NA-083 and Assateaque Island as NA-139. No WZ3AR/4 operation will be from Assateaque Island.

VK0MM QSL UPDATE: Alan, VK0MM, reports the following and requests to "PLEASE PASS ON AS YOU SEE FIT" the update:
1) Alan (VK4AAR) is presently flooded under with QSL requests... his turnaround time is thus likely to be a bit longer until the initial rush has died down. Alan (VK4AAR) requests the following points be noted which will speed up the QSLing considerably:
2) Please include a self addressed envelope.
3) Please DO NOT stick Australian stamps on the envelope. A Goods & Services Tax was recently introduced in Australia and Australia Post is now issuing new "International Only" stamps. The older "standard" Australian stamps being sent with some requests ARE NO LONGER VALID for postage in Australia.
4) Please DO NOT send Yen, Lira, Deutsch Mark, Marrka, Pounds, Roubles etc. etc. The Bank charges involved in exchanging these to A$ are considerable. If you want a VK0MM QSL card, then US$ or A$ ONLY please, or if you really insist, then IRCs (which MUST be franked at the originating office and MUST be less than one year old to be accepted by Australia Post).
5) For the umpteenth time, VK4AAR is NOT the QSL manager for VK0LD and does not have the log for this station, so please do not send cards to him. QSL for VK0LD is at: http://www.eQSL.cc/qslcard Thanks & 73, Alan ... VK0MM

YK9A is now QRT. The group made over 27,000 QSOs during 7 days of operating time. Final statistics will be available on the web site by the end of the month. The team thanks the DX community for keeping the pileups going 24 hours per day, and it was a truly exciting event. They also thank their host Omar Shabsigh, YK1AO for his hospitality and friendship. The expedition would not have happened without his support, and that of the Technical Institute of Radio. QSL via K9LA.

SU, EGYPT
SU/ZS6WPX has been heard on 20/12/10 meters during the past week. Check between 28475 and 28490 kHz between 1330-1730z. Check around 24940-24950 kHz after 1100z and 14180 kHz after 1915z. QSL via ZS6WPX.

SV5, DODECANESE
Carl, GW0VSW, will be active as SV5/GW0VSW from the Island of Rhodes (EU-001), June 16-30th. Activity will be mainly CW on all bands 40-10 meters. XE, MEXICO
The Mexican "Radio Club Satelites, A.C.", XE1RCS, will be active once more in the CQ WW 160m Phone Conetst. Last year they obtained "Second Place World Multi Operator" category. They will be especially looking for Europe, Asia and Africa with improved antennas. QSL via XE1KK.
