In Tahiti he has a garden cottage to operate from that may be a candidate for a beam antenna installation suitable for a future operation in a CQWW or ARRL DX Contest. Operation will be mostly CW, and he suggests to look for him on 20/40/80m at his sunrise and sunset. He will travel to Raivavae Island (OC-114) on July 22nd, and plans to be active as TX2A during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 27-28th) as a Single- Op/All-Band/24-Hrs/Mixed-Mode/DXedition entry. They desperately welcome help from someone willing to donate a used, modest HF radio. Their goal is to allow Alberto, HC1DAZ, teach local residents how to operate and obtain an Ecua- dorian license and promote the hobby in this very isolated area of the countryside, HC7. For more details on how to help, see QRZ.com under N4EVJ/HC7. QSL N4EVJ/HC7 and W7HU/HC7 via W7HU or LoTW. HS10, THAILAND. Loc EL79) using the callsign K4D between June 2-13th. Dog Island, Florida, is an extremely rare IOTA because access is controlled by the 25 or so homeowners on the island. There are no hams on the island, and the only activations have been done by Bruce over the last 5 years. Access is by permission only and per- mission by one of the homeowners. It is only accessible by private charter or single engine fixed wing aircraft. The airstrip is overgrown so private charter is the only real choice. There are no streets, roads, stop signs, trendy cafes, or beach-front bars. If you need it, you bring it. Activity will be on 40-6 meters primarily on SSB and FT8 Digital mode using 100 watts an ICOM 7100 into an off center fed dipole. Bruce will be checking 10m and 6m often for Sporadic E. Look for him during daylight USA on 15 and 20 meters, nighttime 30 and 40m. He will also be active during the ARRL June VHF Contest. Operations will be on 40-6 meters using CW, SSB and FT8, with possibly 2-3 stations. FT8 will be on 24/7 as a beacon on two bands F/H mode. NCDXF awards grant to Perseverance DX Group's 2020 South Orkney DXpedition -- The Northern California DX Foundation is pleased to announce it will be a major con- tributor to the Perseverance DX Group’s VP8O South Orkney DXpedition planned for February/March 2020. South Orkney Island is currently #16 on the ClubLog Most Wanted List. Since 2016, NCDXF-supported DXpeditions activated five of the ten most- needed entities. NCDXF-funded DXpeditions in this time put well over 1 million QSOs into DXers' logs! https://sorkney.com/ has details of the 2020 South Orkney Island DXpedition. DXpeditions to rare entities like South Orkney Island that are so remote are becoming more expensive, a trend that we believe will continue. NCDXF's primary purpose is to help fund well-organized DXpeditions to desirable DXCC entities like South Orkney Island. During the last 47 years, NCDXF has granted nearly $1.2 million to hundreds of DXpeditions helping to put an "all-time-new-one" (ATNO) in the log and make DX happen for thousands of DXers worldwide. The credit for these large grants goes to the NCDXF contributors, individuals and clubs who support the DX community. Without those contributions, DXpeditions to entities like Bouvet or other desirable locations would not be possible. If you agree with the importance of NCDXF's work, and if you are not a current contributor, we hope you will become one today by clicking here. http://www.ncdxf.org Your contribution will continue to help make DX happen. You can also support future DXpeditions by including the NCDXF Cycle 25 Fund in your estate plan. We wish the Perseverance DX Group a safe and very successful trip to South Orkney Island next year. 73, Ned Stearns, AA7A, NCDXF Vice President P4, ARUBA. Philipp, DK6SP, will be active as P4/DK6SP from Aruba (SA-036) between May 22-25th. Operation will take place from Oranjestad, the P40V radio station built by Carl & Sue Cook, P49V & P40YL, now owned by Luise/ DL2MLU and Ben/DL6RAI (https://www.p49v.com). Activity will be on 160-10 meters using SSB, RTTY and FT8. Philipp plans to be active in CQWW WPX CW Contest (May 25-26th), possibly with a special P40 callsign. QSL P4/DK6SP via his home callsign direct, ClubLog's OQRS or LoTW. Watch QRZ.com for updates. PROPAGATION FORECAST/REPORT (April 29th-May 5th).......
