Alex, W1CDC, will once agin be active as 8R1A from Guyana
between October 13th and November 1st. Activity will be holiday style
on 80-10 meters using CW and SSB. There will be an emphasis on 80/30/

Fred, DL8BF, is now active as 9N7BF from Nepal until October

once again be active as C37NL during the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October

C6, BAHAMAS (Update)
Rich, N0HJZ, will once again be active as C6ARW from
Grand Bahama Island (NA-080) between October 22-29th. Activity will be on
30/17/12 meters this time using CW and RTTY. Operations will also include
the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 26-27th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power

C82, MOZAMBIQUE (Press Release, Dated September 29th) [edited]
"This marks the last benchmark for C82DX to be operational by October 14th. They will be active until the morning of October 23rd giving us 9 evenings of low band opportunities.CY0, SABLE ISLANDOperators depart from Japan, Canada and the U.S. next week to convene in Pretoria on the 12th for loading the caravan for the trip to Xai at 5 AM on the 13th. Upon arrival the first antennas to go up are the low band Titanex, Battle Creek and Big IR verticals. After that the listening loops and beverages, beams, and VHF antennas will be erected.

GB0, ENGLAND (Special Event)
Look for special event station GB0TWY to
be activated by the 2nd Twyning Scout Group, as part of the 56th Jamboree
on-the-Air (JOTA) event, for one day on October 19th. Operations will be
from the Twyning School. Twyning is a small village on the banks of the
River Avon, 3 km north of Tewkesbury in the county of Gloucestershire,
England. The village has around 70 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts – many of
which will be visiting the station to take part in JOTA/JOTI 2013. They
will also be joined by other Scout groups from Tewkesbury District.
Activity will be on the HF bands (40/20/15 meters) as well as 2m and

GB2, ENGLAND (Special Event)
Special event callsign GB2NZ came on the
air on Saturday, October 5th, as part of the preparation for the commemo-
ration of the 90th anniversary this October of the first-ever Europe/
Oceania radio communication, between Z4AA in southern New Zealand and
2SZ in London, in 1924. The main object is to make some G/ZL contacts
on 80 meters, close to the 3 MHz frequency used in 1924. Laurie Margolis,
G3UML, will be on first with the special callsign GB2NZ on October 5th
and 6th (UK time). Other operators, including Don/G3BJ, Chris/G3SJJ and
John/G3XRJ, will keep it going throughout most of October. The schedule

H4, NICARAGUA (Reminder/Update)
Members from the Spanish Aitana DX
Group (ADXG) are now active as H7H from Octavio, YN2N, radio shack in
Nicaragua until October 16th. Operators mentioned are Javi/EA5KM (CW),
Fer/EA5FX (CW), Eugen/EA5HPX (CW), Fran/EA7FTR (SSB/RTTY), Jose/EA1ACP
(SSB/RTTY) and Carlos/EA1DVY (SSB/RTTY). Pilot station named is Ismael/
EA1AZ. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL via

IA0, ANTARCTICA
Max, IW0HEU, will be leaving for the Antarctica on
October 14th, and he expects to operate as IA0MZ from the Mario Zucchelli
Base Station (WAP ITA-01) until January 31st, 2014. Activity will be
limited to his spare time. Suggested frequency and time of operation
is 14333 kHz between 1730-1830z or watch your local DXCluster. Full

II8, ITALY (Special Event)
Look for special event station II8IDXC
(suffix "International DX Convention") to be active between November
2013 and May 2015. Activity is to publicize the 10th anniversary of
"International DX Convention" that will be held in Paestum, Italy,
in April 2015. Operations will be on the HF bands and 6 meters using
CW, SSB and the Digital modes. QSL Manager is IZ8EDJ. For more info,

IOTA NEWS
EU-028. Members of the MOdena DXpedition Italian Team (MODXIT) will
be active as IA5/homecall from Giglio Island (Tuscany Archipe-
lago, IIA T002, WLOTA 0564 and D.C.I. GR-056…) October 8-13th.
Operators mentioned are Augusto/IK4RQJ, Vanni/IK4RUX and
Sergio/IZ4BBF. Activity will be on the HF bands (including
30/17/12 meters) using SSB and the Digital modes. QSL via

EU-125. Ric, DL2VFR, will be active as OU1RAEM from Romo Island (DIA NS-001), Wadden Sea National Park (WWFF OZFF-004) between December 28-31st. Activity will be on the HF bands, mainly CW and include an entry in the RAEM Contest (December 29th). QSL via DF5LW, direct or by the Bureau. Also, QSLs will be sent automatically by the Bureau. NA-060. Dan, HQ4W, was only active for one day this past week to Tigre Island in celebration of the Honduran Armed Forces Day. He is expecting/hoping to return to operate between October 17-20th. QSL via KD4POJ.
NA-124. (Update) Operators Manuel/XE2HUQ, Saul/XE2HQI, Craig/XE2HWJ and Felix/XE2I will be active as XF1P from Partida Island between November 9-16th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters using CW and SSB. QSL via XE2HUQ.
NA-144. Benjamin, KK6FUT, will be active on Santa Cruz Island (USI CA-012S, WLOTA 0813), in the Channel Islands National Park (WWFF KFF-014, Santa Barbara County, CA) between October 19-20th. He will be there with a Boy Scout Troop for the Jamboree-On-The-Air (JOTA). Activity will be on 20 and 15 meters, possibly 40 meters. OC-109/ Operations YE5T from Tambelan Island (OC-122) and YE5S from
OC-122. Natuna Selatan (OC-109) have now been postponed until Spring
of 2014.

K5, UNITED STATES (LH and Special Event Op)

from the Round Island Lighthouse (USA-711) between October 18-20th.

KG4, GUANTANAMO BAY (Reminder)
Operators Bill/W4WV and Al/W6HGF will be
active as KG4WV and KG4HF, respectively, from Guantanamo Bay (NA-015)
between October 11-25th. Activity will be on all bands, 160-6 meters using
SSB, RTTY, PSK, and some CW. They will be on the air for the JOTA to put
the local Boy Scouts on the radio. They will complete the antenna repairs
from damage by hurricane Sandy and a few minor repair items to the shack.

P29, PAPUA NEW GUINEA (Update/Rescheduled)
Akira, JA1NLX, reports on
his Web page that he will be active as P29VNX from Lissenung Island (New
Britain Island), in the Bismarck Archipelago IOTA Group (OC-008) between
December 1-6th. Activity will be mostly on the IOTA frequencies on 3010
meters using CW, RTTY and PSK31. His transceiver is a Elecraft KX3 with
a small 100w amp into a 1/4 wave vertical with elevated radials. QSL via
JA1NLX, direct (w/SASE & 2 USDs) or OQRS (direct (3 USDs) or Bureau). Do
not send your QSL via Bureau. He is no longer a member of JARL. All logs

for the Caribbean Contesting Consortium's (CCC) Signal Point PJ2T Station
on Curacao (SA-099, WLOTA LH-0942), reports:
"None of the members of the CCC group are able to be at the QTH for the December ARRL 10 meter contest except for me. If you would like to come as a single op, or would like to put together a team to operate the contest during that time, let me know. I could operate with you if you wish, or turn it all over to you if that's your preference. (We will be signing PJ2T, and that letter of permission has already been issued.) The station is very capable on 10, with seven yagis available on 10 in various configurations and aimed in various directions. U.S. POSTAL INCREASE PROPOSED FOR 2014. The United States Postal Service announced on September 25th proposed price changes, including an increase in the price of a First-Class Mail single-piece letter from 46 cents to 49 cents. The proposed changes, which would go into effect in January 2014, are intended to generate $2 billion in incremental annual revenue for the Postal Service. Highlights of the new single-piece First-Class Mail pricing, effective Jan. 26, 2014, include:

S2, BANGLADESH (Project 2013 by MDXC - Press Release #4)
The Mediterraneo DX Club (MDXC) announced on Tuesday, October 1st, that they received two callsigns for their Bangladesh operation [edited]: "Great news from the Mediterraneo Dx Club International Team. The leader Antonio, IZ8CCW, and the co-leader Gabriele, I2VGW, are happy to announce to the Dxer Community that, after many months of hard work and with the great help of a local friend, Manjur, they became able to obtain a wonderful couple of twin callsigns that will accompany the team during their new DXpedition in Bangladesh: S21ZBC and S21ZBBT6, AFGHANISTANAs a matter of fact, they are going to use the first one (S21ZBC) from the DXpedition starting (November 16th) to November 22nd included, and then they'll shift on the other call (S21ZBB) that they'll use starting from November 23rd for the CQ WW CW CONTEST week-end and the remaining days till they leave the Country.

T8, PALAU
Kiichi, JF1LUT, will once again be active as T88IK from
Arakabesan Island, Koror (OC-009), between October 8-15th. Activity
will probably be on 17-6 meters SSB only. QSL via his home callsign,
direct or by the Bureau.
TK, CORSICA
Mek, SP7VC, will be active as TK/SP7VC from Corsica Island
(EU-014) between October 22-28th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using
SSB and FSK441 via meteor scatter on 6m from WW Loc. JN42. Also, he will
be in the CQWW DX SSB Contest ((October 26-27th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/
High-Power entry. QSL via LoTW or direct to SP7VC.
TO1, FRENCH GUYANA
Herve, F5HRY, will be active as TO1A during the CQWW
DX SSB Contest (October 26-27th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (10m)/High-
Power entry. QSL via LoTW.
TO2, MAYOTTE (Reminder)
Members of the "Italian Dxpedition Team" are
now active as TO2TT from Mayotte Island until October 17th. Activity
will be on 160-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. They will have with them
four Elecraft K3 w/amps, one Spiderbeam (20-10m), two yagis (20-10m),
three vertical antennas (80/40/30m), longwire for 160m and 3 element

TO4, MARTINIQUE (Reminder)
By the time you read this, Thierry, F4BDG,
will be active as TO4FM from Martinique (NA-107) until October 20th.
Activity will be on the HF bands. QSL via EA5GL or on eQSL and LoTW.
VK9L, LORD HOWE ISLAND
Fred, VK3DAC, will be active as VK9DAC from
Lord Howe Island (OC-004) between October 14-20th. His suggested frequencies
are on or around 3595, 7105, 14250, 21250, 28450 and 50150 kHz, but during
his early mornings and into the evenings as time and conditions permit.

and YJ0ZS via JA2ZS.
ZF2, CAYMAN ISLANDS
Curt, N0OK, will be active as ZF2OK from Grand
Cayman Island (NA-016) between December 1-8th. Activity will be holiday
