ZL9, CAMPBELL ISLAND (Update)
Ed, VK2JI, Publicity Officer for ZL9HR,
reports [edited]: "The Hellenic Amateur Radio Association of Australia,
ZL9HR team of ten Amateurs from around the world, arrived safely back on
the New Zealand mainland on Tuesday, December 11th, having completed
operations on Campbell Island in the early hours of Sunday morning
December 9th (local time). On arrival back into New Zealand, the last
of the log data was sent to the webmaster and the online log updated.
The team of operators then set off back to their homes around the world
with undoubtedly memories of a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
High praise for the operation has been received by the pilots from Amateurs around the world and the question most often asked is 'where will the HARAOA team go next?' - we'll all have to wait a while before that question can be answered!
Putting on an expedition as big and as remote as this one costs a lot of money and it is not too late to make a small personal contribution to help with the costs if you wish to. This can be done at the website
From the log on their Web page, as of 1604z, December 8th, ZL9HR has made a total of 42922 QSOs with 15487 Unique callsigns (26334/CW, 15279/ SSB, 1259/RTTY and 50/???). Breakdown by continent is: 263/AF, 0/AN, 5625/AS, 17194/EU, 16585/NA, 2121/OC and 1134/SA. Remember, QSL via EB7DX direct, LoTW or use the OQRS for Bureau and direct requests. For more information, visit their Web site at: http://www.campbell2012.com ADDED NOTE: The ClubLog's "Online QSL Request System" (OQRS) is now activated for those who wish to request their QSL cards electronically at:
