3C0, ANNOBON ISLAND (Update)
By the time you read this, operators Elmo/EA5BYP and Javier/EA5KM are now active as 3C0E from Annobon Island (AF-039; Pagalu). Nothing was heard about a possible extension, so activity will last until March 11th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. See OPDX.1047 for suggested frequencies. QSL 3C0E (as well as 3C6A) via EA5BYP: Elmo Bernabé Coll, P.O.Box 3097, 03080 Alicante, Spain. For more details and updates, watch the Web page at:

http://www.gdgdxc.net/3c0e/index.php

4J0, AZERBAIJAN (Lighthouse Op)
Members of the "Safari DX-Activators Club" will activate Nardaran Lighthouse (AZE-008) and possibly (depending on permission) Shuvalan Lighthouse (AZE-007) between March 3-4th. Activity will be between 0800-0000z approx. The callsigns to be used by the team of operators are 4J0LH for Nardaran, and 4J0SFR for Shuvalan. The main bands of operation will be on 40 and 20 meters. They will use two IC-718 w/PA-200W into multi-band Delta-42m and Inverted-V antennas. QSL via 4J5T. Operators mentioned are Yasuhiko/JR0HYT (QRP), Boris/4K4K (CW), Sergey/4J5A (CW), Oktay/4J7A (CW/SSB), Farid/4K6AF and Natig/4J5T (SSB, team leader).

4K, AZERBAIJAN
Axel, DL6KVA, will once again be active as 4K0CW from Baku between March 15-20th. Activity will be CW only on all HF bands (depending on the band conditions) using 100 watts into a 84m long wire (from Vlad's, 4K9W, QTH). Axel also plans to participate in the Russian DX Contest (March 17-18th) as a Single-Op/Low-Power/CW entry. QSL via DL6KVA (Bureau OK). Logs will also be uploaded to LotW.

5N, NIGERIA
Bodo, DF8DX (ex-DL3OCH and 5N0OCH), will once again be active as 5N7Q from Abuja between March 7-14th. He is there for maintenance work on a broadcast station. Activity will be on 40-10 meters using one of the largest fully rotatable huge broadcasting antennas on modes CW and SSB. Bodo informs OPDX,

"In the past, I had alot of QSOs on 80m, even though the antennas are not really designed for that band. I will try to be active on 80m as often as possible. These antennas that I use have a 20dBi gain on all frequencies from 6-26 MHz. They are optimized as transmitting antennas. They are very broadband tuned and therefore also catch alot of noise. So, whenever there is some QRM or QRN, it's a lot stronger on my antennas, and I cannot always use them on frequencies below 10 MHz. The QRM is just too high, and I don't copy anything. But there are days where I switch to 80m and the entire band is very calm and noise is only S1. I then had fantastic DX QSOs on 80m. I will try that for sure again, but it's not only depending on me."
QSL via DF8DX, direct or by the Bureau. All QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW.

6V, SENEGAL (Now 6m!)
Members of the Saly Amateur Radio Club Station (ADRASEC) in Mbour will activate the special callsign 6V7SIX to celebrate the newly allocated band 50-51 MHz in Senegal, recently obtained at WRC-12. This is a temporary authorization valid until the new ITU Radio Regulations (WRC-12) come into force, normally by the end of 2012. The 6V7SIX Radio Club operators will be listening to 50.110 MHz (Intercontinental calling frequency) and 50.210 MHz (French calling frequency). The 6V7SIX callsign is the first, and for now, the only station authorized to operate on the 6-meter band in Senegal. 6V7SIX is proud to be sponsored by the UK Six Meter Group (UKSMG) and InnovAntennas. QSL via eQSL and LoTW only.

7P, LESOTHO
Gert, ZS6AYU, will once again be active as 7P8GF between March 8-13th. Activity will be holiday style on 40-10 meters, CW only and using just 100 watts into a vertical. QSL via ZS6AYU (see (QRZ.com)).

Activity will be holiday style operation, and he states, "Because this is not a real DXpedition, but rather Ham radio tacked on to a snorkeling trip I'll be traveling light: IC706IIG and a vertical antenna. I've used this set up all over the world with great success and it fits into a simple roller suitcase. I'll concentrate on 17m and 20m SSB and CW." QSL via KF6JOQ.

LX, LUXEMBOURG
Philippe/LX2A will be active as LX7I during the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 3-4th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry. QSL via LX2A. Visit the following Web page at:

NH8/S, SWAINS ISLAND (Excerpts from a Press Release)
Operators Joe/W8GEX and Craig/K9CT will lead a multi-international team of operators to the rare DX entity Swains Island (OC-200) in September (their Web page states September 4-18th). Joe and Craig are the same co-leaders of the very successful PJ7E DXpedition on 10-10-10, and were also part of the team that re-activated Midway Island (K4M) in 2009. Swains Island is ranked number 31 on the "DX Magazine's Most Wanted Survey" and number 30 on the "ClubLog's Most Wanted list". Because of the anticipated demand, a highly experienced team of 20 operators has been formed. The team will operate six stations over a 14 day period, from 160-6 meters on all modes, using the callsign NH8S. A great emphasis will be put on Europe where it is most needed.

The current list of team members include Joe/AA4NN, Norbert/DJ7JC, Dietmar/DL3DXX, Massimo/I8NHJ, Alan/K5AB, John/K6MM, Kevin/K6TD, Craig/ K9CT, Fred/KH7Y, Lou/N2TU, Arnold/N6HC, Mark/NA6M, Tom/ND2T, Garry/NI6T, Hawk/SM5AQD, George/W4BUW, Charles/W6KK, Joe/W8GEX, David/WB4JTT and Jerry/WB9Z.

Swains is a privately owned island, and the only way to get there is from American Samoa via a ship. The time frame of this operation may not be the best for the low bands, but dates are dictated by trans- portation and weather. The team of international operators will first gather in Honolulu and then travel to American Samoa together. Landing permission has been granted for the tent and generator operation by the owner for this timeframe. A Web page is currently under construction by team member John, K6MM, which will provide updates as they become available at:

http://www.nh8s.org

There are no communication systems on Swains, but logs will be uploaded daily via satellite phone. Later, the group will also have an OQSL link on the Web site for easy QSLing. All equipment must be sent from the U.S. via cargo ship in June. Location, transportation, island costs, and other logistics make this a costly trip. Therefore, donations are very much appreciated. Details of how to donate to help defray their expenses are on the Web site. The team wants to thank ICOM who will be supplying IC7600s for their use. Also, they would like to thank Joe, AA4NN, who will be their QSL Manager, and to Carl, N4AA, Editor of "The DX Magazine" who will sponsor the log search.

NP2, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS
Operators Randy/N0TG, Jeff/N1SNB and Ron/AA4VK will be active as NP2/homecall from St. Croix (NA-106) between March 7-14th. Activity will be on all bands and modes. This will also include CW and SSB on 60 meters. QSL for all callsigns are via N0TG, direct or by the OQRS

(Details via www.N0TG.com)
