DXCC NEWS
Bill Moore, NC1L, Awards Branch Manager, reports that the following are approved for DXCC credit:

TJ9PF Cameroon; 2011 Operation. Special Note: "We have been notified that the TJ9PF QSL labels have been printed with the year 2001 instead of 2011. This is a known software bug that has been fixed. Regardless, we do not believe the integrity of the TJ9PF logs or operation are affected by this printing error. Also, the TJ9PF logs have now been uploaded to LoTW, providing a primary source of QSO confirmations. We will add instructions to the DXCC system internally to note this operation's correct year. No one wants to promote the wasting of resources to reprint labels or cards, or to require resending of cards to fix an error which has little effect on the program. DXCC will accept TJ9PF QSLs showing the date as 2001.

VK0KEV Macquarie Island; 2011 Operation. If you’ve had this operation rejected in a recent application please send a note to dxcc@arrl.org . You can verify the update to your record either by checking your LoTW account, or, you’ll see a change in the live daily listing on the DXCC web site.

ST0, SOUTHERN SUDAN
The following press release (Bulletin #3) was sent out on June 6th (edited): "DXpedition to Southern Sudan -- The Intrepid-DX Group and the DX Friends/Tifariti Gang continues to move forward with our plans to activate the new country of Southern Sudan with a large multi- national DXpedition.

We have held several successful meetings with representatives of the Government of Southern Sudan. We have been issued an amateur radio license for the purpose of this DXpedition. The Government of South Sudan is very supportive of our plans to visit Juba and to help them celebrate the birth of their new country.

The Government of South Sudan will declare their independence from Sudan on July 9th, 2011. They have applied to the UN for admission as a member state. The UN General Assembly and Security Council will vote on the matter in the weeks following the declaration of independence.

While there have been attacks and fighting in the disputed border region of Abyei, these issues are not expected to derail the emergence of this new country.

We plan to be in the new capital of Juba and to be ready to start our DXpedition upon admission by the UN. We will have 18 operators operating 24X7 on seven active stations.

At this time, we are seeking Foundation, Club and Individual Sponsors to help us defray the costs of carrying out this DXpedition.

ZD7, ST. HELENA
Nigel, G3TXF, will be active as ZD7XF from St. Helena (AF-022) between June 22-30th. Activity will be from the QTH of Barrie, ZD7MY, which is at 1200 ft. ASL and has an excellent take-off to the north. Operations will be mainly on the HF bands using CW. Nigel plans to take antennas for 160/80m as well as for 6m. QSL via his home callsign. Nigel mentions that there will not be any Internet access in the shack (nor is there any mobile phone service on the island). However, logs will be uploaded to both LoTW and ClubLog whenever practical. For more details on Nigel's ZD7XF operation, visit his Web page at:
