1A0, S.M.O.M.
Another rare appearance/activity of 1A0KM from the Sovereign Military Order of Malta happened this past weekend, and operations were expected to end on January 30th. Operators mentioned were IK0FVC, G4IRN, I0JBL, I0ZY, I8NHJ, IK0DWN, IK0FTA, IK0PRG, IW0BYL, IZ0NRG and possibly some guest operators. QSL via IK0FTA direct. All QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW.

4W, TIMOR-LESTE
David, VK2CZ, will be active as 4W3A from Dili during the CQ WPX SSB Contest (March 26-27th) as a Single-Op/Low-Power entry. David informs OPDX that this is just a long weekend trip (fly in on the Friday and then out on Monday.... The airfares are dirt cheap right now). He doubts very much if he will be on the air outside the WPX SSB contest. QSL Manager is direct via M0OXO

5Z, KENYA (Update)
Sig, NV7E/ZS6SIG, who has now relocated from Pretoria, South Africa, to Nairobi, Kenya, is now signing 5Z4EE for the next four years. Sig announced this past week that he will also be in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 26-27th) as well as the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 19-20th) and ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/ High-Power entry. 6W, SENEGAL
Fernando, EA1BT, will be active as 6W/EA1BT between May 3­12th. More details are forthcoming.

8P, BARBADOS
Tom, W2SC, will be active as 8P5A during the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th) as Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power entry. QSL via LoTW or direct to NN1N.

9N, NEPAL
Operators Dov/4Z4DX/9N7DX and XYL Anat/9N7YL will be active between April 13-30th. Activity will be mainly 20/15/10/6 meters using mostly CW, RTTY and PSK31. BLACK SEA CUP INTERNATIONAL 2011

Hector, CE3FZL, and possibly others will be active as CE2C from the Faro, Cofradia Nautica del Pacifico (ARLHS CHI-079, WW Loc. FF46DP), Algarrobo, during the South American Lighthouse Weekend (SALW 2011), February 25-27th. Activity will be on 40/20/15/10 meters using 100 watts and a Mosley TA33M directional beam antenna. CY0, SABLE ISLAND (Update)
Randy, N0TG, reports, "Although the two previous attempts to access the island were unsuccessful, the team is eagerly looking forward to March anticipating improved weather, propagation and a successful landing. We are pleased to note that routine supply flights to Sable for the small staff on the island have been successful and on schedule during January. Hopefully, this will be a continuing trend of improved flight conditions as we count down to an early March operation. Most of the Dxpedition equipment and supplies are stored in the aircraft hanger in Halifax, Canada---ready to be loaded onto the aircraft." D2, ANGOLA
QSL Manager Mike, CT1IUA, informs OPDX that Paulo, D2CQ (aka CT1ITZ), will be back on the air very soon from Porto Amboim. He was off the air for almost 1 year after some equipment was stolen from his QTH (power supply, coax, PL's, windom...). Paulo will be on the air with a G3TXQ Hexbeam and for now he will only be active on 20-6 meters SSB. He plans to put a dipole up for 40m and 80m soon. Mike mentions that sometimes the electricity goes down for 2 or 3 hours, so it is normal that Paulo suddenly disappears once in a while!

D4, CAPE VERDE
A group of operators (not named) will once again be active as D4C from Sao Vicente Island (AF-086) for the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 19-20th) as a Multi-2 entry. FH, MAYOTTE (Update to OPDX.995)
Bruno, DH1BL, who is currently active as FH/DH1BL from Mayotte (AF-027) for the next 3 years, has now received a "FH" callsign - FH4VOS. He was heard this past week on 20 meters SSB. QSL via his QSL Manager DL7BC, by the Bureau or direct.

HH, HAITI
Operators Jan/K4QD and Don/AF4Z will once again be active as HH4/K4QD and HH4/AF4Z between February 18th and March 5th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters CW, SSB, RTTY and possibly PSK, as time permits. As in the past, Jan and Don will be working at the NW Haiti Christian Mission

HI, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC (Update)
Operators Yukon John/KL7JR and XYL Claire/WL7MY will be active as HI3/KL7JR and HI3/WL7MY from Hispaniola Island (NA-096) between March 1st and June. IOTA NEWS
AF-018. Operator Raffaele, IH9YMC, will be active from Pantelleria Island (IIA TP-001, MIA MI-124, WW Loc. JM56XT), African Italy, in the CQ 160-Meter SSB Contest (February 25-27th) as a Single-Op/low-Power entry. QSL via eQSL.

AF-068. (Op Postponed!). Italian operators Leopoldo/I8LWL (5C2L), Alfredo/IK7JWX (5C2J), Ruggero/IK2PZC (5C2P), Simon/IZ7ATN (5C2SG) and Mounaim/CN8QY have postponed their operation to Herne Island, located in the large bay of Dakhla, until September. Orginally it was scheduled for between February 1-5th. Alfredo, IK7JWX, informs that the 5C2 was traveling in Morocco to reach Dakhla and Herne Island, when on the way a wheel broke on of their jeep, and it turned upside down. The impact only hurt Leo/I8LWL (5C2L), but the rest of the team is in good shape. Leo suffered a fractured shoulder and a slight head injury and is now recovering in a Marrakech hospital. EU-054. Operators Raffaello/IT9ATF, Renato/IT9NPR, Pippo/IT9PPG, and Pino/IT9WDC will be active as IF9A from Favignana Island (IIA TP-011, MIA MI-025, WLOTA LH-1545) for the CQWW WPX SSB Contest as (March 26-27th) as a Multi-Single entry. Activity will be on all bands and modes outside of the contest. QSL via IT9ATF, direct or by the Bureau.

EU-146. Gerard/PD2GCM and guest operator Bertus/PD2GJS will activate the special callsign PD04ISLE starting May 1st, to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the Isle of Tiengemeten, a nature island. It is the last surviving island in the southwest part of the Netherlands as a unique nature reserve. The activation will be continued throughout 2011 until December 31st. For more details, see:

NA-067. (Update/Correction) Operators Eric/W4OTN, Amanda/KI4IWS and Bill/KG4CXY will be active as W4OTN from Core Banks Barrier Island (USI NC033S, WLOTA 0596, Carteret County, North Carolina) between July 29th and August 1st. Activity will include an entry in the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st). Outside of the contest they will be active on 80-10 meters using CW and SSB. QSL W4OTN, by the Bureau or direct (QRZ.com)

J8, ST. VINCENT
Dave, G3TBK, will once again be active as J88DR between February 16th and March 14th. Activity will include the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 19-20th) and the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th) as a Single- Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. He will also be in the RSGB's 74rd Common- wealth Contest (March 12-13th). Activity outside of the contest will be on all HF bands, especially 30/17/12 meters, using CW, SSB and RTTY. Tim, WD9DZV, will be active as P40A from Aruba between March 8-13th. Activity will be holiday style on most bands and modes. QSL via WD9DZV.

PJ2, CURACAO
Members of the Caribbean Contesting Consortium (CCC) will once again activate Signal Point Station on Curacao (SA-099, WLOTA LH-0942) during the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 19-20th) as a Multi- Multi entry. YE2H QSL STATUS. Dani, YB2TJV, QSL Manager of YE2H (Indonesian Light- house Station) informs OPDX that the YE2H QSL cards are still in printing, and will be ready at the end of January 2011. He states, "Thanks for all stations who have made QSOs with us."

ZL8X QSL STATUS. Mario, DJ2MX, states that the ZL8X QSL cards will be printed sometime in February. They hope that the distribution of QSL cards will start at the end of February or beginning of March. In a press release by Mario, some questions came up last weeks about their LoTW policy. T30, WESTERN KIRIBATI
Udo, DL9HCU, is once again active as T30HC from Tarawa Island (OC-017). Length of stay is not known. Activity this past week was on 20 meters CW (14002 kHz around 0600z). QSL via his home callsign.

TF, ICELAND
Siggi, TF3CW, has announced that he will be active in the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 19-20th) as Single-Op/Single-Band (20m) entry. QSL via LX1NO.

TI8, COSTA RICA
Operators Keith/W4KTR, Eddie/K4UN, Bob/W4BW, Lex/W4XO, Carlos/TI2KAC, Juan Carlos/TI2JCY and TI2ZM will be active as TI8M from Costa de Pajaros, during the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th) as a Multi-2 entry. QSL via TI2KAC, direct preferred but bureau "OK". Look for activity before the contest on 160-10 meters.

TJ, CAMEROON (Update)
An international team composed of members of the Provins ARC (F6KOP) will be active as TJ9PF (instead of TJ3C as first reported) from Kribi between February 10-20th (See OPDX.992). Also, Gerard, F2VX, unfortunately had to cancel his trip with the team, and a substitute was very quickly found. V5, NAMIBIA
Seven members of the Lufthansa Amateur Radio Club (LARC) of Frankfurt will operate as V55DLH from Omaruru between February 5-12th. Operators mentioned are: Georg/DD8ZX, Bernd/DF1FF, Juergen/DH0RAK, Juergen/DH6ICE, Frank/DJ3FK, Rudi/DK7PE and Bernhard/DK7TF. Activity will be on all bands and modes, including PSK and SSTV. VK9C, COCOS-KEELING ISLANDS
Tim, NL8F, will once again return to Cocos Keeling (OC-003) and be active as VK9CF between March 19-29th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters SSB and possibly 160m. Tim hopes that this year's conditions are better than last year's conditions in March for the lower bands. He is also expected to be in the CQ WPX SSB Contest (March 26-27th). QSL via K8NA.

VP8O, SOUTH ORKNEY ISLANDS
Members of the Microlight Penguins hit the airwaves as planned on January 27th, from Signy Island (AN-008) around 1730z on 20 meters SSB. Activity by VP8ORK should last until February 8th. They expect to be on the air with 7 stations on all HF bands 160-10 meters using SSB, CW and RTTY (Suggested frequencies were listed in OPDX.995). As this was being written, the VP8ORK log shows (at 1456z, Janaury 30th) that they have made 21198 QSOs with 7863 unique callsigns (13321/CW, 7364/SSB and 513/RTTY).
