7X, ALGERIA (Lost Privileges)
Mustapha, DL1BDF, is reporting some bad news from Algeria. According to Mokthar, 7X5JF, the Algerian authorities have revoked/cancelled operating privileges (for unknown reasons) for the use of the 80 and 17 meters bands as well as VHF and UHF. Hopefully, there will be a quick return of privileges on these bands for our Algerian friends.

8Q, MALDIVES
Tim, VE6SH, IARU Vice President, will be active as 8Q7TM between July 11-20th. His activity will include the IARU HF World Champion- ship (July 12-13th). QSL via VE6SH.

AFRICAN TOUR
John, 9M6XRO, (one of the Frosty/K5LBU team members going to Mozambique), informs OPDX that he will be active from the following African locations:
July 11-13th: From Johannesburg, South Africa, as ZS6/GM3OOK

His activity will be on 160-10 meters using CW/RTTY/SSB. John states,
"At each QTH, I will be running a linear with beams for HF plus a four- squares and verticals on the low bands. In Mozambique, for part of the time, I will be with the group who is operating from the 16th to 30th. See:

CT3, MADEIRA ISLANDS
Zoltan, HA5PP, will be active as CT3/HA5PP during the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 25-26th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry. QSL via HA5PP.

CY0, SABLE ISLAND (Update)
The 6 meter DXpedition to Sable Island will be coming to an end by the time you read this. They are expected to go QTH on July 7th. Operators Pete/VE3IKV, Dick/K5AND and Chris/W3CMP have been very busy. Sunday morning's Web site reports that 2514 6m QSOs are in the log with 55 DXCC entities, including North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa and Asia. D4, CAPE VERDE
Massimo, IZ4DPV, will be active as D4C during the IARU HF Championship Contest (July 12-13th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High- Power/SSB entry from Mindelo, Ilha do Sao Vicente (AF-086, WLOTA LH-1976).

GB7, ENGLAND
Members of the RSGB will activate a special callsign for the upcoming IARU HF Championship (July 12-13th) from three separate DXCC entities this year (G, GW, GM). Look for the special callsign GB7HQ to be active between 1200z, July 12th and 1200z, July 13th, on 160-10 meters CW and SSB (contest bands). LY755, LITHUANIA (Special Event)
Look for 8 special event stations to be active and on the air using the prefix LY755 from July 6th until August 6th. Activity is to celebrate State Day and the 755th anniversary of the Crowning of Lithuanian King Mindaugas. Lithuanians will be celebrating their State Day and the Crowning of Lithuanian King Mindaugas. The state of Lithuania was created by King Mindaugas in the 13th century, with the building of political, economic and cultural bridges to modern Europe. After receiving baptism from the Pope of Rome in 1253, King Mindaugas was the first leader of the country to direct the nation to Western Europe. Look for the following special callsigns to be used:

OJ, MARKET REEF (Update/EU-053)
Five operators will activate Market Reef between July 11-14th, which will include a Multi-Op entry as OJ0A in the IARU HF World Championship (July 12-13th). The group is expected to arrive on Friday, July 11th, and leave on Monday, July 14th, depending, of course, on the sea conditions. They will have three stations on the air on 160-6 meters. Operators mentioned are: Olaf/G0CKV/SM0CKV, Seppo/OH1VR, Markus/OH3RM, Bob/W6RGG and Rodger/G3SXW. All operators will sign OJ0/homecall before and after the IARU Contest, except for OH1VR who will use OJ0VR. QSL all OJ0/homecalls via the operators' home callsigns and OJ0VR via OH1VR. OX, GREENLAND (Update)
Operator Bo/OZ1DJJ (OX3LX) is expected to combine a work and vacation DXpedition here, July 9-23rd. Activity will be on 6 meters and possibly 2 meters. Operations will be limited to his sparetime. QSL via OZ1PIF.

OY, FAROE ISLANDS
A German group will be active from Suduroy Island (EU-018), July 7-16th. Operators mentioned are: DL2MLU, DD1LD, DD5FZ, DK7MCX and DL6RAI. Look for the operators to sign homecall/OY. Activity will be on the HF bands and 6 meters using modes CW, SSB and Digital. The team is expected to be in the IARU HF World Championship (July 12-13th).

Activity this past week was from Ria Formosa Natural Park. Operators were Toze/CT1GFK and Al/CT1GPQ. Activity/QSOs are good for a new permanent award in Portugal. QSOs are good for DPRN - Diploma dos Parques e Reservas Naturais, Portuguese Natural Reserves and Parks Award (CTFF - DPRN) by ADXG - Algarve DX Group. Champ, E21EIC, informs OPDX that as of March 2008, Champ and his wife (JayCie/E20NKB) are once again volunteer QSL Managers for Thailand's RAST QSL Bureau. They will service all RAST members only. All RAST members are requested to send your current mailing address to Champ to make sure that they have your up-to-date address. For outgoing QSLs, it's still 2 Bt. per QSL.

OLD QSL COLLECTION (Update). Jean Michel, F6AJA, wants to remind everyone to visit the Les Nouvelles DX (LNDX) Web page to see more than 5500 old QSL cards in several different albums/galleries. This site contains:

TI0, COSTA RICA
Members of the Radio Club of Costa Rica and a U.S team plan to be active as TI0HQ in the IARU HF World Championship Contest (July 12-13th) from the Costa Rican HQ as a Multi-Multi effort. They expect to have several stations on the air from different locations around San Jose. Activity will be on 160-10 meters CW/SSB. QSL via TI0RC, by the Bureau.

USI SPECIAL EVENT STATIONS
The ARRL Letter reports, "The United States Islands (USI) awards program will host a series of special event stations

-- including their main club station KL7USI --
from all over the U.S., Alaska and the Yukon celebrating 15 years on HF. Starting summer 2008 throughout 2009, look for USI activities on 14.260 MHz and other bands. USI is the premiere state island collecting program.

V31, BELIZE
Clay, K7HC, will be active as V31HC between September 1-15th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters using CW and SSB. Watch for possible 60 meter operations. QSL via K7HC.

V6, MICRONESIA
Dick, AD7AF, will be active as V63WWA from Kosrae Island (OC-059) between July 6-24th. Activity will be mostly CW with some SSB/PSK31/RTTY on 80-10 meters. QSL via AD7AF.

VP2, MONTSERRAT
Frank, K3TRM, is now active as VP2MRM until July 13th. He will be active on all bands 80-6 meters. He is expected to run at least 100 watts on 6 meters, quite possibly 500-1KW if VP2M law permits, into a 5 element yagi. Frank has been spotted over the past weekend on 14260 and 18145 kHz between 1800-0500z. QSL via K3TRM.

VP9, BERMUDA
Remember Ralph/K9ZO and his XYL will be on holiday from here between July 9-16th. He expects to be active as K9ZO/VP9. During his stay he plans to be in the IARU HF World Championship Contest ("a bit" - July 12-13th) and also monitor 30/17/12/6 meters.

XU7, CAMBODIA
Peter, NO2R, will once again return back to Sihanoukville on December 15th. He will also sign as XU7ACY again. Activity will be on 160-10 meters using CW and SSB. An emphasis will be on 80 and 160 meters. QSL via W2EN. No return date was reported at this point in time. ADDED NOTE: Peter will also be active in the CQ 160-Meter CW Contest (January 24-25th, 2009) as a Single-Op entry.

YI, IRAQ
Buzz, NI5DX, reports that Kitch, WD6V, who has been active as YI9WV, has made some 4000 contacts in the log since mid-April. Most of his contacts have been on 40 and 30 meters CW, but he has also been on 20/17/15/10 meters. Kitch has also been active on PSK31 on 20 meters and is expected to try 40 meters. He is going to try to look for the U.S. East Coast on 40m between 0030-0300z. Kitch will be in Iraq possibly until late November unless he receives an extension. Activity is limited to his free time. YV5, VENEZUELA
Members of the Radio Club Venezolano will activate their multiplier HQ station as YV5AJ during this year's IARU HF World Champion- ship (July 12-13th). QSL via the info on (QRZ.com).

ZD8, ASCENSION ISLAND (AF-003)

ZF, CAYMAN ISLANDS
