A multinational team lead by Francesco, IK0FVC, will activate 1A0KM from the Sovereign Military Order of Malta between July 12-22nd. 8Q, MALDIVES (AS-013)
James, M1DST, will be active as 8Q7JP from July 9-16th. Activity will be on 80/40/20/15/10 meters SSB. He might attempt some slow CW too if he is brave enough. PLEASE NOTE that this will be a holiday style with operations. James says, "It is my honeymoon so I have to respect that. My other half is licenced too so she understands the fun". 8Q, MALDIVES (Correction/Update)
Operator Al, JA9APS, will be active as 8Q7KN (not 8Q7NK) between July 6-9th. This is a family vacation. His XYL JR9GTD will also operate as 8Q7KN, and his two sons JE9AMG and JE9AMH will will operate as 8Q7KF. Al hopes to operate on 40-6 meters, SSB, CW and RTTY, using a TS-570S and R8 vertical. A2, BOTSWANA (Update)
Frosty, K5LBU/A25CF, and his team of operators are now active until the 20th. Activity will be active on all bands from 160-6 meters on CW and SSB, with operations also on 6/2 meters and 70cm EME. CARIBBEAN TOUR (V2 and VP2)
Frank, K3TRM, is now active from Antigua as V26RM until July 10th. Activity will be on 80-6 meters CW, SSB and RTTY. Frank has received permission to operate on 60 meters (a first from Antigua). He was heard this past week very active on 60/20/17 meters. Look for Frank to go to Montserrat (VP2) next and be active between July 11-14th. Activity will be on 80-6 meters, CW, SSB and RTTY. Frank is still waiting for the final confirmation on his callsign, but he is expecting to receive VP2MRM. QSL both operations via K3TRM.

CU2, AZORES
Pedro, EA1FCH, will be active from Sao Miguel (EU-003) in the Eastern Island Group as CU2/EA1FCH, July 27th through August 5th. Activity will be on the lower bands and WARC bands, mainly CW and the Digital modes. QSL via EA1FCH, by the Bureau or direct.

FG, GUADELOUPE (NA-102)

HK0, SAN ANDRES
Operators Tom/K3WT, Vlad/N0STL, William/W0OR and Ron/ N0AT will be active from here between November 19-27th. Activity will include the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) as a Multi- Single entry. Contest callsign has not been announced yet.

HS0, THAILAND
Look for members of the Radio Amateur Society of Thailand (RAST), under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King, to be active as HS0AC during the IARU HF World Championship Contest, July 14-15th. EU-066. Members of the Student Radio Club "SPORADIK" (RW3WWW - from the Kursk State Technical University) will be active as RI1SI from the Solovetsky Islands (RRA RR-02-04), July 11-16th. EU-145. Members of the OM0C Contest Crew are pleased to announce another IOTA DXpedition to Isola di Ventotene. An inter- national team of 8 operators will again active the Island of Ventotene (Ponzine Islands) from July 25-30th. Activity will be on 80-2 meters using the callsign IB0/homecall, and the callsign IB0/OM0C in the 2007 IOTA Contest (July 28-29th) as a Multi-Op/DXpedition entry. NA-067. Jon, WB8YJF, is about ready to go on his yearly trip to Ocracoke Island (USI NC001S), NC, from July 22-29th. His activity will be on CW/SSB on 80-10 meters. Jon will also be in the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 28-29th). He has a nice full color QSL card of an arial view of the island. QSL direct for a FAST reply; Bureau QSLs are "OK" but a lot slower. OC-137. Operators Dave/VK4NDX, Andrew/VK4HMU and Darren/VK4FEAT will be active as VK4HAM/LGT from Cape Moreton Lighthouse (AUS-039) on Moreton Island for the International Light- house/Lightship Weekend (ILLW) between August 17-20th. J3, GRENADA
Operators Ann/WA1S, Bill/VE3EBN, Ulf/DL5AXX, George/N2GA, Diane/K2DO, Leo/S50R, Tim/K5AC, and Les/W2LK will be active as J3A from here during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) as a M/? entry. KH0, MARIANA ISLANDS
Operators Kay/JH0MRP and Naoyuki/JK1FNL will be active as AC5TB/KH0 and NA8O/KH0, respectively, from Saipan (OC-086), between July 13-16th. Activity will mainly be on 30/17/12/6 meters, but they do plan to be in the IARU HF World Championship Contest next weekend (July 14-15th). QSL via their home callsigns.

KL7, ALASKA (IOTA Op)
Operators Rich/N7TCO and Martin/W7ASF will be active as W7ASF/KL7 from Prince of Wales (NA-041) between July 22-30th. Their activity will include an entry in the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 28-29th). QSL via W7ASF.

KL7/NL7, ALASKA (IOTA Op)
Just a reminder that operators Marvin/KL1YY, Bob/NF7E and Art/NN7A will operate from Ushagat Island, Alaska (IOTA NA-206), from July 12-17th. They will have two stations using 100 watt transceivers with vertical, wire, and kite antennas. Operation will be CW by NN7A/NL7 and SSB by KL1YY and NF7E/KL7 on 160-10 meters with SSB on the 20m and 15m IOTA frequencies as conditions permit. No digital or VHF operations are planned. There are no existing facilities on Ushagat, so operation will be from a camp set up by the operators using battery and generator power. LR4, ARGENTINA
A large group of LU operators will be active as LR4A in the IARU HF World Championship Contest (July 14-15th) as a HQ entry. This will be the first time that the LU operators will take part in the 2007 IARU HF World Championship Contest. The team consists of 9 stations, and will activate 6 bands on CW and SSB. There will be 28 operators on the team that consists of the following hams: LU1AEE, LU1ECZ, LU1DK, LU1FAM, LU1FKR, LU1HF, LU1NAF, LU1NDC, LU2DVI, LU2NI, LU3CT, LU3HY, LU4DX, LU4DJB, LU4FPZ, LU5HM, LU5HCI, LU6FAZ, LU7HE, LU7HF, LU7HN, LU7HO, LU8ADX, LU8NA, LU9DAG, LU9HS, LW7HW and LW9EOC. MDF IN NOVA SCOTIA
Members of the Halifax Amateur Radio Club (HARC) invite all contesters, DXers and HF enthusiasts to the 4th Annual Maritime DX Forum (MDF). It will be held in Upper Tantallon, just outside Halifax, at the Head of St. Margaret’s Bay. This is a full day event on Saturday, August 4th, begins at 8:30 am. The Program includes five excellent presentations:

1) Tom Harrell, N4XP, talking about the highly challenging 2007 Scarborough Reef DXpedition.
2) The second presentation will explore answers to the question: "Why do Mariners become Radio Amateurs? It features Jose Campione, VA3PCJ, a noted Ontario yachtsman and ham.
3) Scott Wood, VE1QD, will take you on a trip to the British Antarctic Territories, some of the rarest DX real estate on the planet.
4) Fred and Helen Archibald, VE1FA and VA1YL, will show you how to mount a real DXpedition in your own region at a moderate cost.
5) The DX Forum Dinner will feature a reception at 5:00 pm followed by dinner at 6:00 pm. In the day’s final event, Don Trotter, VE1DTR, and his musical group Sunrise will entertain after dinner with a Bluegrass Concert: DX Breakdown.

SPECIAL EVENT (Scout Station)
Look for special event station SX100VAR to be active until the end of the year. This is a Boy Scout station to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the International Scout Movement. It will be active from the Scout head office (KM18XF) in the Varnava area on all bands on SSB and RTTY. There will be an award available for radio amateurs and SWLs by making just one QSO with this special event station on any band and mode. SPECIAL EVENT
Look for special event station K8KRG to be active between July 13-14th during "NOARSFEST" in Wellington, Ohio. A special QSL card will be available. Operator will be Andy, N8OFS, from grid square EN81VE on the following suggested 6 meter frequencies: 50.155, 50.162.5, 50.167.5 and 50.175 MHz.

SX5, DODECANESE (Update/EU-001)
Operators Theodor/SV1GRM, Sotirios/ SV1HER, Nikiforos/SV1EEX, Daniel/SV1JCZ, Cliff/SV1JG, Spiros/SV1RC, George/SV1RP and Lykourgos/SW1GZL will be active as SX5AS from the complex of three (3) uninhabitant Rocky Islet of Astakida and the lighthouse (WLOTA LH-0393, WW Loc. KM35JV), July 17-23rd. All the above operators are members of the Radio Amateur Association of Greece (http://www.raag.org). It will be the first time that the islets are going to be activated for ham purposes as well as the lighthouse. The complex is located on the western side of Karpathos Island (at 18 NM) and on the Northern side of Kasos Island. Activity will be on all HF bands, 160m-23 Cm (HF-SHF). Main modes will be CW/SSB/PSK/RTTY/FSK441/ FM. They will also try to work amateur satellites with 2m-23cm FM transponders. QSL via SV1HER (QRZ.com).

T8, PALAU
Operators Hide/JM1LJS (T80W), Motoaki/JE1EKS (T88EK) and Koya/JI5RPT (T88PT) will be active from the IMPAC Palau Rental Shack, July 13-18th. Activity will be on 40-6 meters, CW/SSB and satellites. QSL via their home callsign. The Web pages for this operation are:

TC25, TURKEY (Special Event)
Look for special event station TC25SG to be on the air between July 11-15th to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the foundation of Turkish Coast Guard Command (Sahil Guvenlik). Look for Leonardo/TA1FR, Tevfik/TA1HZ and Bekir/TA2RX to be the operators and to be active from some part of the Marmara Straits Area Command's Coast Guard vessels. They team plans to do an all day multi-band operation for the upcoming IARU HF Championship weekend. QSL direct via TA1HZ or via TA QSL Bureau.

V3, BELIZE (Update)
By the time you read this, Dennis, K7BV, should be active from Caye Caulker (Grid EK57 - IOTA NA-073) off the coast of mainland Belize through July 16th. He informs OPDX that he will be using the callsign V31BV on all bands except 6 meters where he will use the special callsign V36M exclusively. The main purpose of this trip is to focus on 6 meters. VP2V, BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
Tune in Tortola! WorldRadio Magazine Editor and FISTS CW Club Coordinator Nancy Kott/WZ8C, along with Bob Mennell/WB5IUU, Cal White/WF5F, Paul Frantz/W5PF and Bill Frink/K5WAF from the Texas DX Society (TDXS) will be operating from the Island of Tortola July 11-18th. They will be participating in the FISTS CW Club Summer Sprint on Friday, July 13th from 8:00 PM to midnight EDT, and the IARU Contest the weekend of the 14th. Operations during the rest of the week will be on SSB, RTTY and CW with an emphasis on straight key operations. Here is an opportunity to get IOTA NA-023 in your log, as well as the VP2V prefix, which the operators will be using in front of their callsigns (VP2V/homecall). QSL via FISTS Bureau or W5PF.

VR10, HONG KONG (Special Event)
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong being handed back to the People's Republic of China, look for VR radio amateurs to use the prefix VR10 (instead of VR2) between July 1st, 2007, and June 30th, 2008.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fenerbahce Sports Club, look for Berkin, TA3J, to be active using the special callsign YM1907FB, which was authorized by the Turkish Republic Telecommunication Department of Istanbul Site Manage ment, between 1907z, July 19th and 1907z, July 26th (not August 2nd as first announced). Activity will be on 160/80/40/20/15/10/2 meters and the WARC bands on all modes. QSL via TA3YJ, direct or by the bureau.
