EDITOR'S SPECIAL NOTICE
This week's bulletin was sent out earlier than normal to accommodate the late CQWW DX CW Contest announcements. Also, we wanted to provide the readers with a consolidated listing of the CQWW DX CW Contest participants.

3D2/R, ROTUMA ISLAND
Operators Will/N7OU and Rob/W7YAQ will be active from here for the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 4-5th) as a Multi-Single entry. They have received permission to stay on Rotuma and have made all of their travel reservations. They currently don't know their 3D2 callsigns yet.

4L, GEORGIA
Vakhtang (Vaho), 4L8A, will be active in the CQ WW DX CW Contest (November 26-27th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (40m)/High-Power entry. QSL direct to 4L8A.

4U60, UNITED NATIONS HQ
The United Nations HQ station was on the air this past week using the callsign 4U60UN to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the United Nations. Operator was Masa, AJ3M. QSL via HB9BOU. They expect the next activity to be this coming Sunday, November 27th. Operator will be Seppo, OH1VR. Also, QSL via HB9BOU.

5Z, KENYA
Alex, 5Z4DZ, will sign the unique callsign 5Z1A during the CQ WW DX CW Contest this weekend. He will be a Single-Op/Single-Band (20m) entry. QSL via PA1AW, Alex van Hengel, Bovenkruier 18, 2995CA Heerjansdam, The Netherlands. More info and logsearch after the contest will be available at:

6O, SOMALIA
Eight Italian operators will operate from Somalia for two weeks starting January 19th. Operators mentioned are: Alfeo/I1HJT, Silvano/I2YSB, Carlo/IK1AOD, Carlo/IK1HJS, Vini/IK2CIO, Angelo/IK2CKR, Marcello/IK2DIA and Adriano/IK2GNW. They will operate as 6O0N (in memory of Adam Nuur Maxamed Islam) with three stations on all bands SSB, CW and RTTY. 6Y, JAMAICA (Update/Correction/Omission)
Kenny/K2KW and Tom/N6BT will be active from here between November 26th and December 5th. Their activity will include the ARRL 160M CW Contest (December 2-4th) as 6Y0A as a Multi-Single entry. They also report that they will be running a 2 element vertical array with 76' elements with top loading and a large radial field... this will be the biggest 160 array they have installed to date. They will be running 1200w. Kenny reported to the "TOP-BAND" group this week: "Most operations will be on 160m. Nightly into USA/EU, and then at sunrise for JA/Asia/Oceania. We'll be active a bit during the 2nd night of CQWWCW, and then all during the week. We'll do a M/S effort in the ARRL 160m contest, which is the main focus of the trip. Thanks to JA3AAW, this information has already been posted on the JA TopBand reflector, as we will make a special effort at our sunrise for JA and Asia. When targeting JA, we'll transmit on 1825.5, listening down 2."

9H, MALTA
Operators Andrea/IK1PMR and Claudia/K2LEO will spend the next five weeks on Gozo Island (EU-023) as 9H3MR and 9H3LEO, respectively, now through December 21st. Look for 9H3MR to be mainly on the lower bands CW, 20 meters and the WARC bands. Look for 9H3LEO to be on RTTY. They plan to participate in the CQWW CW Contest this weekend as well as other upcoming Contests (160m and RTTY). QSL via IK1PMR. Visit the following Web page for more info and updates:

AT0, INDIA (Special Event)
Arasu, VU2UR, informs OPDX that some VU amateurs will be active using the special callsigns like AT0JCB, AT2JCB, AT5JCB, etc......, all with the same suffix on or before/after November 30th. It will only last for a very short time. This is in celebration with the birth/anniversary of the Great Indian Scientist Acharya Jagadeesh Chandra Bose (JCB), who demonstrated wireless communication, much before G. Marconi. Watch out for these special stations and receive a special QSL card. ADDED NOTE: Dattatry, VU2DSI, informed OPDX that he will be active using the special callsign AT0JCB for 24 hours on November 30th. Suggested frequencies are as follows:

10m - 28510 and 28490 kHz 40m - 7090 and 7035 kHz 15m - 21310 and 21270 kHz 80m - 3780 kHz

C6, BAHAMAS
Brian, ND3F, is expected to be active as C6AQQ this weekend rom Nassau (IOTA NA-001 and lighthouse WLOTA L-1115), New Providence, until November 29th. Activity will include the CQ WW DX CW Contest. QSL via his home callsign.

CT1, PORTUGAL
David, CT1DRB, will be active as CS1GDX during the CQ WW CW Contest as Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power. QSL via CS1GDX, GPDX, Portuguese DX Group via the bureau.

CT3, MADEIRA ISLAND
Jose, CT1BOH, will be active as CT3EN in the CQWW CW Contest from the "Madeira Team's" station located near Funchal in Santo da Serra. This station was used last CQWW SSB Contest as CT3YA and previous results gave it a 1st place World Multi-Multi.

HS0, THAILAND (News]
Charles Harpole, K4VUD (currently HS0ZCW), states, "Remember that all regular HS stations are limited to small parts of the low end of 80m and 160m and only during contests... see RAST Web site for details." He also mentions that two HS RAST club stations are currently licensed to transmit on the WARC bands... HS0T and HS0AR at least through the end of this 2005 year.

IOTA NEWS
AS-053. Operators Choon/E20HHK, Mann/E20NTS, Cy/HS0GBI, Winit/HS1CKC, Yong/HS4BPQ, Son/HS6NDK and Pong/HS9IFG will be active as HS0T from Ko Lanta Yai Island and lighthouse (WLOTA L-0946) between now and November 28th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters, the WARC bands included, CW, SSB, RTTY, SSTV and PSK31. QSL via HS6NDK (QRZ.com). AS-113. Steve/G4EDG and Jeff/G4ELZ will be signing /SV8 from a hilltop location on Kithira Island, December 4-11th. Activity will be CW only with two stations. They will be using a FT100 and a FT817 into G3HCT vertical and modified dipoles, running 100 watts output. QSL via G4ELZ.

KP2, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS
Ken, WB2ART, will be active on St Croix, USVI, January 13-21st. Activity will be (mostly) PSK31 on 20 meters, but he can operate any band 40-10 meters. QSL via his callbook address with SASE.

OA, PERU (Update/Correction)
Daniel/DL5YWM and Eric/W0TT will operate from the Radio Club Peruano in Lima, from now through November 28th. Their callsigns will most likely be OA4/DL5YWM and OA4/W0TT. QSL via home calls. Additionally, they plan to operate OA4O or OC4O on all bands in the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest. QSL via OA4O.

OH0, ALAND ISLAND (Update/Change)
Look for Ville, OH2MM, to be active as OH0E in the CQ WW DX CW Contest as a all band entry.

OJ0, MARKET REEF (Daily Reports Filed By Martti, OH2BH, From The OJ0 Trip)
Before and during the November 2005 Market Reef DXpedition (OJ0B & OJ0J), Martti, OH2BH, one of the participants, is filing daily reports from the area, reflecting his impressions and those of the other team members (OH2PM, OH2BO and OH0RJ) about each day's activities. U.S. POSTAGE GOING UP. Look for U.S. Postal rates to go up effective January 8th. Postal rates and fees will increase an average of 5.4 percent, the postal service announced Monday, November 21st. The price of first-class stamps will increase from 37 cents to 39 cents. Postage for postcards will increase a penny to 24 cents. It is the first postal rate increase since 2002. Airmail stamps will go from 80 cents to 84 cents. Please remember this increase when you are QSLing.

LOGBOOK OF THE WORLD. Robert, HB9BZA, informs OPDX that the Logbook of the World (LoTW) users list has reached 10,000 callsigns! He states, "The (unofficial) list I've been working on for several months just reached this important milestone. It can be downloaded at this URL:

NOT THE QSL MANAGER. Phil Whitchurch, G3SWH, informs OPDX that he has been receiving QSLs for Z21CA. He has never been the QSL Manager for this station.

R1MV, MALYJ VYSOTSKIJ ISLAND (MVI)

Anyone donating 100 USD will be listed on the QSL card. Also, a special color QSL will be available for anyone donating 5 USD with their QSL card.

SP, POLAND (Special Activity)
Tom, SP5UAF, reports on two upcoming special event stations to be active:

SP0TPAX - Look for special event station SP0TPAX to be active in December and then again in April. The activity is organized by the SP DX Club. Expect activity on all bands (LF, HF, VHF, UHF) on all possible modes. QSL via SP7DQR (by the bureau or direct). This activity is to celebrate the first Polish amateur radio contact to a HAM station from outside Poland in 1925. Tadeusz Heftman, using the call SP0TPAX, made a QSO with N0PM - it was a station from the Netherlands. A few months later, in April 1925, TPAX made a QSO with an American HAM who was using U1AAO as a callsign. PLEASE NOTE: Tom, SP5UAF, is look for any HAM who perhaps has any information about the historical callsigns N0PM or U1AAO. Contact Tom, SP5UAF, at: tomek@sp5zcc.waw.pl

SP80QSL - Look for SP80QSL to be active from December 1st through mid- January. This activity is organized by the Warsaw District of the PZK (Polish Amateur Radio Union). QSL via SP7DQR (by the bureau or direct). Activity is to celebrate the founding of the QSL Bureau in Poland. In 1925, Jan Odyniec and his brother Stanislaw (both non-HAMs, but did a lot for HAM Radio in Poland) founded the first QSL Bureau. Tom, SP5UAF, states, "As far as we know it was the first QSL bureau in the world. The first QSL bureau was helping to exchange QSL cards and it was also designing and printing QSL cards for Polish HAMs."

TI, COSTA RICA (Correction)
Phil, N0KE, reports that he had a "TYPO" in the information he sent out about the activity from the TI5KD station for the CQ WW DX CW Contest. In the contest, Phil plans to be active as TI5X mainly on 15 meters. He also mentions that Alan/K0AV will be active as TI5N on 40m (not 20m) and Martin/K2PLF will be active as TI5A on 20 meters.

V3, BELIZE
Art, NN7A, will operate as V31JZ/p from South Water Caye, Belize (IOTA NA-180), January 11-15th. This will be a one-person operation with 100 watts, and a vertical and wire antennas. Operations will be CW on 40-10 meters including the WARC bands; some 80m and 160m. There will be some possible SSB activity on the 20/15 meters IOTA frequencies if conditions permit. IOTA NA-180 was opened as a new IOTA by Art and Mike Sharp, NG7S / V31RL, in February 1993. This will be Art's 6th operation from South Water Caye, and his 12th trip to Belize since 1988. QSL via NN7A, by the bureau or direct to: Art Phillips, P.O. Box 201, Flagstaff, AZ 86002 USA. There will be no on-line logs, and E-mail contact will not be possible while on the island.

ZK1, SOUTH COOK ISLANDS
Operators Bill/N7OU and Rob/W7YAQ will be active from Rarotonga, February 16-24th. They currently don't have their callsigns, but they have made their plane and hotel reservations for this DXpedition. Their activity will include the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 18-19th) as a Multi-Single entry. Outside of the contest, they will be on all bands 80-10 meters, mostly CW, but there may be some SSB too. More details are forthcoming as it gets closer to their operation.
