EDITOR'S SPECIAL UPDATE NOTICE (by Tedd, KB8NW)
My LINUX mail system (BARF80) is still being worked on; however, it is up and running with a new harddrive from a remote location. Dave, WB8APD, Administrator for HAMNET.ORG AND NSHORE.ORG is currently trying to save files from the old drive. A special thanks goes out to him for his hard work and time. However, I have finally been able to access my mail (dated between August 16-23rd) which was stored on NSHORE.ORG since the BLACKOUTS and harddrive crash. Information marked "(*)" below are from these E-mails, and I am sorry for their delay. Hopefully, things will be back to normal very soon......... 73 de Tedd KB8NW

KH7K, KURE ATOLL DXPEDITION (Postponed) (*)
Kimo Chun, KH7U, informs the following: "Gentlemen: Please be advised that this DXpedition has been postponed until sometime next year.
Due to uncertainties related to transportation access to Midway, our stepping stone to get to Kure, it has been decided to wait until things are settled. It is possible that a necessary part of our travel route may become inaccessible only a couple of weeks before our trip is to start. This is totally beyond our control. This will stop the trip dead in its tracks should it occur. I cannot ask the team members to arrange for the time off work only to find out at the last minute they can't go.

The team is anxious to go. We will continue to raise funds towards this trip which will cost more than was spent to go to Kingman Reef, KH5K, for our successful K5K effort. Please help in any way you can.
I will work to identify the next opportune time and reschedule the trip. Our team is welcome to go by the island manager. It will remain to coordinate transportation and compatibility with the bird nesting season requirements on this "No Landing Allowed" deserted island.

My apologies to all for the delay. I realize that this doesn't help in our effort to give Europe and others who need it all the QSO's they need. We will do all we can to fulfill that goal....."
