SPECIAL EDITOR'S NOTE:
WOW! Where did this year go? Anyway, my family (wife/OPDX's chief proof-reader Linda, Teddy [TJ], Katie) and I (KB8NW) would like to wish all DXers, Contesters and OPDX readers a very "Happy Holiday and Season's Greetings". Also, we would like thank the many who have contributed information over the year (there are too many to list). REMEMBER, without them there would not be an OPDX Bulletin. I would also thank the many who sent holiday greetings. I tried to answer some and wished I could answer each one of them individually, but it would take a huge amount of time. You would not believe the amount of E-mail I receive...... 73 and Have a Great Holiday de Tedd KB8NW
JUST A REMINDER!
This will be the last week for qualifing to achieve the "DXCC Millennium Award" certificate by working 100 different DXCC entities on the ARRL DXCC List. 3D2/ZK1 ACTIVITY POSTPONED
Last week we mentioned that Dan, N6PEQ, would be active between December 20th and January 6th from Fiji and the South Cook Islands. However, several sources report now that Dan has postponed his operation and hopes to make the trip in the spring or summer of 2001.
Astronaut Chuck Brady, N4BQW, continues to be active daily during various times mainly on 20/15/10 meters. His suggested frequencies are: 3795, 7095, 14195 (Rx split 14200-14210), 21295 (Rx split 21300- 21310) and 28495 kHz (Rx split 28500-28510). FO & FO0/M, FRENCH POLYNESIA AND MARQUESAS
Look for Wulf/DL1AWI, Mat/ DL5XU, Peter/DL3APO and his wife Birgit/DG0OBN to operate from Rangiroa (OC-066) in the Tuamotu Archipelago group from January 27th through February 10th. Peter informs OPDX that he will celebrate his birthday there! After this activity, only Wulf and Mat will go to Nuku Hiva, Marquesas (OC-027), and be active from February 11-28th. They will be active on 160-10 meters CW, SSB and some RTTY, also probably SSTV. Peter states that in their baggage are 2 FT-890, 1-kW-PA, vertical, wire and TITANEX LP 5 antenna. The callsigns are unsure, but they hope to use Wulf's, FO0AWI, and/or Mat's, FO0XUU, callsign from their 1999 operation or CEPT license FO(0)/homecall. P5, NORTH KOREA
The much anticipated operation which was going to take place next week (Janaury 7th) may not happen. "The Daily DX" reported the following this week: "The much-anticipated multi-national North Korean operation, which was announced in mid October, which was first scheduled for late October then early January 2001, has been scrapped. The North Korean Organization for Army support is now refusing the use of any transmitting equipment during the Official Opening of the Educational center, which was scheduled to take place on January 7, 2001. Obviously this is a disappointment to the organizers of P5UK and the DX community."
